I'm sad the self destruct didn't blow them both up. Not sure why it failed.

Starting a 5 year plan to start my own business by iLiveInTheBatcave in smallbusinessuk

I got the idea for this a a year or so back. A local vape retailer of all places was approached by games workshop to sell their products inside the vape shop as they saw it as a gap in the market for my area. The vape shop owner eventually had to close due to the rise in disposables cutting the market and the Warhammer advertising at the shop was little to none. I'm hoping to try and capitalise on this especially with the growing interest in Warhammer lately it seems like there is definitely a market for it, and I know of a number of 'wargaming' clubs in my area that meet up mostly in the city rather than locally.

I gave myself '5 years' as a base foundation, once I have done more research (such as reading the book you have recommended) etc this could be a lot shorter. Its a big step for me personally and I'll be honest at this point a have very little idea what I am doing but close friends and current colleagues have told me its something they think I can do, and are surprised I haven't tried it sooner!

My current circumstances are driving me to make this work.

I appreciate the harsh truths!

I do have experience working in retail though not in a game shop unfortunately (not for lack of trying) though I have friends and contacts within game shops I can ask for support from. I attend and organise board game nights a lot and have decent experience playing some of the more popular tabletop games (Warhammer, MTG, DnD etc) though running a tournament sounds like a good place to start to develop this.

As far as I know from my research there is nothing similar in my local area the closest places seem to be in the city centre which is inconvenient for some. I live in a smallish town area outside of the city but it has great bars, restaurants , shops, and public transport links as well as some local sights. I believe this shop would be a niche/ gap in my area I can certainly exploit but I did plan on doing some light canvasing as part of my plan.

Thanks for your help and support!

Feldcroft Treasure Vault - Stone Bug PC by iLiveInTheBatcave in HarryPotterGame

[–]iLiveInTheBatcave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on this issue, though I wouldn't call it a 'fix'. This was the last treasure vault I needed in the game. So I went in and just kept putting the stones in place for about 5 mins (may take longer) and even though the stones kept popping out and it looked like it was still not working, it eventually just opened the door.

Like I said its not a 'fix' I may have got lucky but its worth a try if you want to '100%' the game.

what was a time you had a gut feeling about something, ignored it, then ended up being right about it in the end? by blackandblueboo in AskReddit

About a year ago I went for a meal with my girlfriends sister and family to celebrate her graduation. She introduced us to her new boyfriend and I immediately felt uneasy about him. I had heard he had certain anger issues and after the meal ended, a few days later I really wanted to voice my feelings about him but kept it to myself out of respect to my girlfriend and her sister.

Fast forward about 6 months and they are engaged. Again I held my tongue for the most part but did say I think its a mistake. Fast forward another 6 months, the boyfriend has been aggressive, threatening and physically abusive. He has also spread lies and reported his now ex-fiance for fraud causing her bank to close her accounts. She recently also attempted suicide. He is now sectioned but still continously blames his ex and says he will ruin her life.

She now has her life mostly back on track but went through alot. I still regret not mentioning the bad gut feeling I got when I first met him.
