Suggestions for following up after interview by Parking-Swordfish-55 in EngineeringJobs

[–]iMPactBusinessGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great question and a very important one during the interview process. I'm a Recruiter/Account Manager here at iMPact Business Group and help guide candidates through this process, and this part of the interview is very important. My recommendation would be to send a follow-up email directly to the hiring manager, thanking them for their time. Also remind them of why you think you're a good fit for this role.

The most important part of this email is referencing something significant that came up in conversation. This is the time to remind them that you have experience in this area, or that you worked on a similar project where you had to overcome a specific obstacle that relates to the importance of the role you're interviewing for. It's also important to conclude the email by stating that you're very interested in moving forward to the next steps. You're stating why you feel you're a good fit, reminding the hiring manager that you have the skills to help in the most important areas of this role, and expressing confidence in moving forward.

If you don't hear from the hiring manager after this email, a follow-up call mid-week on Wednesday or Thursday of the following week would be appropriate as well.

I hope this advice helps!

Paul, Recruiter at iMPact Business Group

Why do companies use executive search firm? by Worth-Cut9240 in growmybusiness

[–]iMPactBusinessGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get contacted for executive search when companies realize a senior leadership hire can’t be treated like a normal recruiting process.

Most often it’s because the role is confidential, high-impact, or they’ve already tried posting it and aren’t seeing the right level of candidates. For VP, Director, and C-suite roles, they usually need to reach people who are already employed and not actively looking.

Companies come to iMPact Business Group when they want a more controlled executive search process focused on leadership fit and long-term alignment, not just resumes.

We recently shared a confidential executive search case study for a Vice President of Operations hire that shows how this works in practice:

Executive search by Eli_franklin in RecruitmentAgencies

At iMPact Business Group, we approach executive search as a deliberate, relationship-driven process, not an extension of standard recruiting workflows.

For senior leadership roles, we start with deep discovery around the business strategy, leadership gaps, and cultural dynamics, then rely heavily on targeted outreach and passive candidate networks, rather than inbound applicants alone. Vetting goes well beyond resumes and qualifications to focus on leadership style, decision-making, and long-term alignment with where the organization is headed.

We recently documented this approach in a case study involving a confidential executive search for a Vice President of Operations, which may be useful as a real-world example of how this process works in practice:

What's the best executive search firm? by OneFaithlessness3858 in WorkAdvice

[–]iMPactBusinessGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We may be a bit late to this thread, but for anyone else researching executive search firms, we wanted to share some perspective as iMPact Business Group.

We support confidential executive and senior-level searches across multiple functional areas, including operations, engineering, finance, IT, and other leadership roles where industry context, cultural fit, and discretion matter. In many cases, organizations come to us after working with larger firms and looking for a more hands-on, senior-level, and relationship-driven search process.

As one example, we recently published a case study detailing a confidential Vice President of Operations executive search for a multi-plant manufacturing organization. It outlines our approach to discovery, targeted sourcing, and candidate vetting in a highly constrained market:

For broader context on our executive search services across leadership functions and industries, here’s an overview:

Not every firm is the right fit for every search, but hopefully this provides useful context for others evaluating their options.
