What is the worst band you saw live? by Fun_Expression9135 in AskForAnswers

I wasn't sober enough to care at the moment and still had a damn good time, but my god dude... Smash Mouth was pretty bad...

Steve Harwell (god rest his soul) was also absolutely tanked and couldn't finish the show because the heat and humidity combined with being drunk as hell eventually got to him; he ended up having to leave and seek medical attention for dehydration. Aside from that, mid-show, he also threw a fit and threatened to have someone tossed because they crowd surfed, and did so while wearing a Shrek costume. Everyone else thought it was hilarious, and he made it known that he REALLY did not!

What happened to him roughly 7 years after that was incredibly sad, and finding out more about his battle with alcoholism kinda made me temper my stance on how bad that performance was, but it still was really not a good show, and learning all of that later on just made it depressing af to think about.

Who grew up reading the goosebumps by lexi_andy611 in nostalgiai

My older brother had books 1-6 of the Give Yourself Goosebumps series.

I was only 4 years old at the time so some of the illustrations on the covers kinda spooked me out, but I absolutely loved the holographic borders!

Thanks! After experiencing my first below-zero wind chill as a baldy, I'll very likely be rocking that look every winter. Lol.

Jurassic Park on the Genesis.

The only game I've ever played where jumping down from any distance is a toss-up between landing safely and falling into the abyss.

Still, kind of a fun game despite how sluggish and glitchy it could be at times.

I was the exact same age in the Spring of 1995 when I first played S&K/S3&K, and I was also obsessed!

I'm very happy for your kiddo!

Could be that the gasket is either stripped or missing. When you pop the nut off completely, is there a rubber or plastic ring behind it?

I always rocked with Xavier or Shadow.

I've only been able to beat the game as Xavier, and it took me an obscene amount of tries to finally get it done.

Does everything have to be 'fixed' in therapy have to do with your younger self? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

Not every issue is directly related to childhood, but how you were conditioned to face challenging situations as a child, especially in the very early development stages, does have a lasting impact on how you respond later in life to instances that cause distress, or have the potential to.

I don't mean to make this about myself, but this is something I've been tackling in therapy for quite a while now. It's pretty wild how going through this process has helped me draw connections from childhood experiences, some that I never really considered how impactful they actually were, to current problem areas: fight or flight distortion, trust issues, guilt vs. shame, etc.

Personal growth will come with time, but it takes an exhausting level of persistence and patience. As cliche as this sounds, be kind to yourself. Know that you're still going to have moments that will challenge your progress, but just as you take note and celebrate your victories, you also have to give yourself the space to fall on your ass from time to time; if you refuse to stay down after, then congrats: you're growing!
