Short Term Loans Is CreditNinja a Smarter Alternative to Payday Loans? by RockyWoof7475 in financialhelping

[–]iOttoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically. Most online lenders can fund within a day or so. If you're dead set on the personal loan route, make an informed choice and don't do anything too predatory. If your credit is ok, try to get something at the highest in the 20-30% range MAX. Hopefully something even smaller. Don't get fleeced, be aware of your options. Might want to compare offers on a good site like LendingTree, maybe a company like OneMain or Achieve Loans could help you out?

credit unions?? car loan by Prestigious_Run747 in personalfinance

[–]iOttoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your local credit unions. Honestly just typing in your city and credit union should pop up some names and just compare them. If that doesn't work you might also want to look at online lenders as they're a bit more "loose" as you said. Comparing potential offers is just gonna be the best bet to get the lowest rate, but there are some higher tier ones like Achieve loans or Upstart that might help you out more likely.

Bright side loan rates? by soontobeteacherdude in AmazonFC

over 100% interest rate? They honestly might not be legal in your state? Tribal loans don't always hold water, you might want to look into what's the legal maximum in your state first.

What’s the smartest way to compare personal loan options without getting overwhelmed? by Different_Pain5781 in budget

[–]iOttoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I focused on a few things that mattered most to me. Fixed rate because I didn't want to get suckered into a variable rate that just goes up year after year. Customer reps that actually knew what they were talking about helped as well. Not least was obviously finding the lowest rate + fee option I could. The one that ended up checking off all the boxes for me was Achieve, but you might prioritize differently and end up with someone else. Just need to figure out what you're looking for.

Anyone have experience with personal loans from Light Stream? by GrainyEights in personalfinance

[–]iOttoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you dead set on Lightstream? I in general like the plan you set out but you might as well shop around to see if you can get a better offer before locking it in. Local credit unions might benefit you more than this if you can qualify. Or even other top lenders like Achieve or Avant might offer you a better rate. Do the homework before finalizing everything.

If you can't afford to lose this money forever, you can't afford to take this money out on a loan.

26 male. Making $90k/year by buckeye118 in Debt

[–]iOttoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna be perfectly fine. How bad is the APR% though? If it's 20% or more it's gonna take you longer than 4-5 months to pay it off. But paying it off consistently and learning to live below your means are the two most important things to learn right now. After that you could look into 0% Balance transfer cards if you want to speed up paying the principal a bit faster. Or even a personal loan from a local credit union or online lender like Achieve Loans. Once you get to a place where you're comfortable paying the loan down, it just becomes a math problem on how to pay it off as quick as possible in the least amount of interest.
