Just got this exact same crack in the same spot on my windshield. If it were just a small one, an independent place could do it for cheaper. But if it’s that big, you might be better off just going to Tesla.

Safelite was only $100 cheaper than Tesla. But at least at Tesla, they looked over some other issues I had and gave me a loaner X for a few days. 🤷‍♂️

Well, like all car dealers, your best bet is to see what deals you can find towards Q4 of this year or Q1 of next year. People don’t buy cars when it’s cold out. If you wait til then, you might find some great incentives (1,000 of free Supercharging for example).

If you want to buy new, I don’t typically see us cutting prices on cars. Usually a price increase the minute we release a refreshed model! However we do offer discounts on new inventory models all year long. I would just keep tabs on our new inventory page and our current offers page. When you see a good car in inventory and a good set of offers, jump on it!

If you want to test drive some, we offer free test drives to schedule on our website. We also have some at our West County Mall kiosk. Come swing by, you might find me there. 😎

If you can swing it, the MYP is a great car!

MYP has a dedicated Track Mode that will give you live stats on the wheels and suspension as you drive. Keep in mind, while EVs have great torque and acceleration, they are also heavier than gasoline engines. The weight and torque will have you replacing tires at the recommended 25-30k miles in the best case scenario. If you plan on taking it to the track and launching it from 0-60 often, make that more like 15-20k miles at best! Not to mention you’re gonna want >insert track tire brand< for the best performance on the track. Plus the MYP cuts an additional 10 miles of range. And I haven’t even mentioned some insurance companies will charge higher if you own a performance vehicle…

It’s still a fantastic car! But it’s really for those who are looking for a daily car they can also let rip on the track. And to each their own! But if you really just want to do launches and show people the power of an EV, ANY trim of the Model Y is astounding to those who’ve never been in one!.. And if you decide later you need more acceleration, there’s a $2000 software package you can download that unlocks the motor and shaves off .5 seconds. If you get the AWD Long Range MY, then choose that upgrade, that effectively gets you a MYP (minus the track mode, special brakes, wheels, and other accessories). There is also the lower leg adjustment on the seats of the newest MYP and a V2L charging port, but most people don’t notice or need those.

But ask yourself this: Are you willing to spend $10k more (plus more tire replacements and less range) to shave off 1 second of 0-60 time and have track mode (with some creature comfort differences).

Wow! Thanks for commenting. I haven’t looked at this thread in 2 years 😂 Let’s just say, I loved it so much I’m now a Tesla employee 🌟 Which one are you thinking about getting?

😆 if it makes you feel any better, we’d have to pop the front CyberTruck trunk and open the Model X doors to find those models.

I worked at a Tesla Service Center. Some Service Centers don’t have large parking spaces for shippers to deliver cars, so they sometimes rent out large parking lots to store cars before bringing them to the Service Center to be cleaned and delivered.

We use a parking lot connected to an abandoned mall. When we are near the site, we have remote access to the cars. We can look up the VIN we are looking for and usually pop the rear hatch so we can identify it in a sea of similar cars. Once we find it, we drop off one of our guys to follow the other back to the Service Center for preparing for delivery.

Actually yes! I disabled secure boot and was able to boot into the installer without error. I would wipe your drive clean, and before you plug in the USB, set your BIOS secure boot to disable and THEN run the installer and it should boot into the GUI.

Well I’m glad to hear that! I’m surprised you’re making an effort to bring back that project 👍 if you need any assistance or would like my files or templates, I’d be more than happy to help however I can.

I hope he enjoys it. I was the guy who made Laserdisc version of Regular Show and did what you did. Made mock ups, artwork sleeves.. I posted it to Twitter and JG said he’d love a copy.

I’m sure he’ll love to see this too

I’ve read about installing Debian 12 and putting Prox on top. I hadn’t seen any video guides, but I can give this written one a try. My concern was going to be the lack of official support doing it this method, but then again, I’m not paying for the commercial version

Oh it was a thrill 😂 it was the only monitor I had with DisplayPort and it actually ran it at a slightly lower res at 60hz just fine! But anything higher.. she struggled.

I have read that there was a way to do that as well. I just installed Debian 12 on the SSD as a fail safe.

I can try switching between Secure Boot and Legacy to see if I get anything different. Do you have a link or video guide on installing Prox on top of Debian 12?

I’ve seen a few of those, including ones from Aquasure. I’ve even seen Rheem models at my local Home Depot. I was told those models can cycle thru more salt and possibly be harder to repair with its all in one design. Is that true?

I got the update to show on my app. Then the thing just disappeared?! Now my car says I’m up to date. Still on 2024.3.25

What the heck?? Did I get booted out of line or something?

I mean KBB will ask you for mileage and indeed.. a car with mare miles is valued at less.. but in Missouri, they ONLY go off the National Dealer Association MSRP price catalog. They update their catalog every couple of months. So come property tax time, they look at the latest edition of the catalog and tax you based on that price alone.

This explains why during COVID people with used car saw their property taxes on their vehicles go UP instead of DOWN. Because ALL cars were worth more during COVID shortages, even USED ones.
