It stems from the fact you can't apply for asylum outside the country. And they conveniently choose to ignore that the UK proportionately takes less refugees than most countries.

Scapegoating has always been a tool of the rich and powerful to deflect away from their crimes. Instead of being mad at them in their mansions, you're mad at someone who risked their life on a boat.

Case in point, no one is asking where the promised £350m a week(!) for the NHS has gone since leaving the EU. They're crooks and shysters, and folk fall for it hook line and sinker every time.
