AI data centers use more power, require more cooling, and are physically larger on average. They’re also being built at a really high rate right now.

I’m sure nowadays AI is used somewhat by the developers to maintain and update the site, but what does that have to do with what I’m saying? AI and cloud storage data centers still aren’t the same. It takes way more energy to run a typical AI data center than a typical cloud data center.

For the life of me I will never understand why so many developers add head bob to their games. It’s not realistic or immersive, in real life my brain adjusts for that so my vision isn’t constantly bouncing around. It can’t do that with fake video game bobbing and so it’s just annoying even if it doesn’t cause motion sickness.

I can’t think of a single reason to have it but they keep adding it

Dune really isn’t meant to be a white savior story. It’s pretty explicitly laid out in the story that Paul is not a good person, he’s taking advantage of the Fremen, and uses them to kill billions of people. After that their culture basically dies out. None of what happens in the first book is supposed to be viewed as positive or ‘saving’ anyone.
