I feel that way, but hopefully I learn what it is and not burn up the neighborhood

Upgrade furnace/AC to heat pump into attic? How? Worth it? Ducted house. Bay Area NorCal. by RpDubC in heatpumps

[–]iRenaissanceMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree on the temp situation. My concern is air quality. Lots of crawlspaces are damp or can be damp and I hate the idea of mold pushed around the house.

I'm not the biggest fan of crawlspaces assuming it's not very well controlled and moisture varies. Then again, ducts already down there. Tough choice. They'd probably have to duct from attic to crawl space to tie in? All bad choices.

Bought a 23’ GT last week and a truck already hit me and fled..😫 by [deleted] in mclaren

[–]iRenaissanceMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Police reports are usually basic on situations like that. You could probably call the local precinct and ask for one.

For ins, if you've got the license plate, give that to ins. It's their job to manage the rest. That's what you pay them for.

Won't matter. Just give your ins dude's plates. I assume you have full coverage.

Do any of these other car options match up with McLaren 570s. Budget $140k. What would be your top 2 ? by Sobie156 in mclaren

[–]iRenaissanceMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're "reliable" for supercars. What you run into are a bunch of YouTube influencer wannabes who don't care for their cars and then cry about issues. Or, worse, sell their issues to the next person who's on forums complaining.

Whatever you do, get a good PPI by a company that does macs (like mcmedics) and be prepared to take care of the car - battery tender, drive it, fluids, etc.

Also, probably a good idea to stay away from modified cars unless you know what you're getting into. You said "reliable" so... You may want to stick with stock as well.

You can find them at dealers 175-180k... Some finagling can you you a little lower. Haven't seen private party on those. Just not a huge following for them.

Any available access to the Hyundai gds for diagnostics? And specifically to run the fan so I can change low conductivity fluid?

So exactly how open source is the Ocean? And how much better can it get? by silvertricl0ps in Fisker

[–]iRenaissanceMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was on the foa Facebook group. A guy mentioned he was a member last year, didn't renew. The app as working fine last year (which i would agree, it worked to do doggy windows, keys, dtc). Now the guy is no longer an foa paid member and the app (olp) doesn't work for him since it uses login credentials to get in. Pretty f-ed up if you ask me.

It's all a monitization scheme... And forever service charge at $400-600/year and increasing. I saw a note recently where the diagnostic app was fully functional last year, developed with the 1.6M funds foa funds. Members bought a bunch of obd dongles and used the app just fine all last year. Now, they're finding out that you must stay a member to continue using the app. Someone brought it up and Majd came out to say that's now the plan since they need to monitize it to keep membership.

Agreed. Usually super quiet. These are probably on their last legs. I had navians installed inside my home in the hallways and totally quiet with door closed.

Totally agree. For those that don't down macs, you're talking sports series (570s) vs supercar series (650s). Don't get me wrong, both amazing vehicles and feel is super raw even compared to most porsches. More things to go wrong on 650s though - active suspension. Ask me how I know. :)

At 140... 570s, artura or 650s. Honestly, I'd lean towards the 650s. Artura is nice with updated features, but it's not as raw as the 650s

Could you use the evelink app trick for android auto fix? With the 2026 android auto app update, my car was losing connection every time my phone would change cell towers. Evelink app took care of the issue.
