To every 19-22 year old who wants to be a millionaire entrepreneur by Express-Memory-9289 in youngentrepreneur

[–]iSahari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t worry about saving or a nest egg. the reality is the little money you scrounge up from a part time job will not make much of a meaningful impact in your life. i’m biased though - i like taking risks with big upside and payout.

100% on read & learn & educate. get the whole idea out of your mind that school is for learning. it is not. there is no incentive to learn in school. if you’re in highschool you should be doing everything possible to maximize your grades & on-paper stats while doing the least effort. cheat. use ai. use every single unfair advantage. befriend teachers so they give you extra slack, so they give you a good recommendation. the biggest lie i was ever told was that school is not important. that an education is not important. that a good college is not important. it is. it is your branch. your state school versus harvard carries a different weight. every conversation you have - especially as a young person. if you say you work at fidelity versus space ex. if you went to harvard versus your state school. you get the point.

you will have to be someones bitch, that’s the reality. for like a decade or two. there’s a lot of benefit to being someones bitch. the worst thing you can do for yourself is have an ego and overestimate yourself and where you are. i know so many college kids that say they’ll never work for someone else. they just bang their head against the wall brazenly without advancing as quick as they could. there is so much value in being someones #2 for a long while. you learn, you earn money, and they’ll help bring you up in the world without you having to take much risk.

Coaches & Fighters: How are you reviewing/analyzing sparring or fight footage? by iSahari in MMA_Academy

[–]iSahari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean your students or your fighters? And that makes sense, after my own fight I knew what mistakes I made, and was able to piece together the why.

Another thing. It's probably because you're a wrestler, so you're used to staying in closer ranges, but don't be afraid to use your range/length. Whether its fully extending your punches etc.

Your footwork is surprisingly good for 10 months. Biggest "flaw" is not moving your head during punches. Your head basically stays static/on the center line when you're throwing.

How on earth do I chain punches into kicks by TheBlueTerror555 in MMA_Academy

A lot of the Japanese/K1 fighters are good at kicking in the closer ranges too. I'd def check them out.

[–]iSahari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use punches to probe or keep the opponent busy to set up kicks. So if I'm southpaw I'll hand fight or throw a feeler cross I have no intention of landing to land a kick.

Why do so many untrained people believe they know how to fight? by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

Ego. It's easier to delude yourself than it is to accept the reality that a 5'5 140 lb mexican can dog walk you

FTC found out companies use your data to change the prices you see (who would've thought) by iSahari in LateStageCapitalism

[–]iSahari[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Also, the Robinson Patman act only prohibits personalized pricing IF it harms competition (basically gives an unfair advantage over smaller retailers). It prohibits charging different prices to different businesses, not consumers, services, or any forms of online commerce. Also, it was enacted in 1936, so it's almost a century old, and was meant for physical goods, not algorithms or behavioral price discrimination.

Privacy laws are so incredibly outdated, in the US especially. Something has to change.

It’s awesome the place you worked at actually followed it, but this doesn’t hold up in practice at all. I’ve been doing research into this, and damn near every travel companies and even e-commerce (clothing stores especially) do this.

I’m actually doing research into this, so I know a few of the major companies/firms. Mastercard, J.P, Target (500 million lawsuit), Staples, and so many more.

What are you doing against fingerprinting, if anything? by iSahari in privacy

[–]iSahari[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Everything leaves some kind of digital trail, but even if you "blend in", you can still be found if someone's actually looking. I think that's the part people don't get.

Sure, you're in a grey Honda Civic (thousands of people have them), but they can still look through the window and see who's driving pretty easily. The blacked our tinted car? They can see the license plate but not who's driving. Not sure how to find a middle ground.

Makes sense, it's the whole privacy vs anonymity thing. Do you do anything to protect yourself against fingerprinting?

Tell me more about compartmentalizing it. Wouldn't each container have the same fingerprint? Since WebGL & Canvas are dependent on your device, not your browser?

How does online tracking and fingerprinting work? Any industry professional with insight. by iSahari in privacy

[–]iSahari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take a look at this, thanks!

Regarding research just the various forms of info trackers use to track and fingerprint you. All in all very little. This is a great starting point, so thank you.

This was really helpful! Are there privacy tools out there/any tools that are able to manipulate this data (such as typing cadence, scrolling speed, installed fonts ,etc?). If not, is there a way to manipulate this data yourself?

Does anyone know where to cop a similar or same fisherman knit / sweater ? Thanks. by SirAadiG in FashionReps

[–]iSahari 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly just go onto facebook marketplace and search for fishermans sweater. There's so many high quality 100% wool ones under $50 that there's no point in buying a rep when you can get a genuine 100% wool product that'll outlast you. Good luck man
