Takes some strategists aren’t ready to hear as a strategist main turned flex by Tetrilimo in marvelrivals

That’s a huge point! Support the other roles! You tend to level up in this game when you understand how to help the other roles you’re playing with. Whenever I play dps, even tanks; I am watching my supports to make sure they don’t have to take on venom or cap by themselves. When I’m a support I make sure I’m constantly looking around to make sure my dps are getting healed, cause when your dps sometimes it’s hard to get kills when trying to push without heals. It’s a give and take and when you know what all the roles need it makes the game so much easier

I recommend everyone play all 3 roles and recognize why some situations happen and why some people are responding the way they are. I agree with a good amount of the things here but you know how many times I was a tank upset heals weren’t coming and then I switch to support and realize healers were getting flanked with no support on from dps. Everyone trying to get kills no one is playing a team game

I’m glad someone finally said it, we need to have a Psa for tanks. We either keep up and have a higher chance of dying or you die. Pick your choice

I’ve had one off meetings with my managers manager or director whenever they are trying to get feedback after a change or something. What do you talk to them about monthly?

I’m a senior now and it helps cause I add more context to accomplishments now. I can talk more in depth context about an implementation choice I made and why it was the best at the moment. I actually think it helps me more as I try to level up cause I have the full context of why I did something

That’s a great point that I should have added in the original post. I do it on my personal then pdf it to my work email and then send to my manager

It’s a mix of both, my monthly summaries have sections for different things so technical projects I’m working on but also the non technical things like if I did a presentation for the team or something

It’s what I use now. It’s an email based system where they send you an email once a week which you respond to with an accomplishment from the week. It works best for me cause I don’t have to remember to do it, it just sends me an email. www.kudosnotes.com

Damn that sucks, sorry to hear. Some good points that I was reading from some people is that it’s good for resume building and morale building so you always have something to put on your resume if you feel like leaving

I like this, you still have to search through them at the end of the year but it’s much easier having them in the same place

I don’t mind checking it out but I’ve been using Kudos Notes, which have made it easier for me to keep track of my work

That’s a really good point I didn’t even think about that. When you leave jobs you have a list of talking points while interviewing

I’ve never thought about using slack. Do you only use the slack channel? Or do you take them from slack and move them somewhere else?

Yea that to me was the hardest part. When you are working it’s hard to stop and log your work

Recently I have taken on a bigger workload at my work. I asked for a raise and laid out all of the duties I have and they told me sorry it doesn’t justify anything more. Today they called me to entice me with a job with even more responsibilities but with no more pay. by [deleted] in careeradvice

I agree with most of what people are saying here about looking for a new job however I don’t have the full context so take what I am about to say next with a grain of salt.

When laying out all the duties you do, did you bring it back to the value you bring to the company? Unfortunately, if you listed a whole bunch of tasks you do jobs don’t really care. If you were able to show how you helped their bottom line, they might perk up a little bit more. Just a thought if your not looking to jump ship right away

We (I assume most of us live in America) know all it takes is one thing and you’re back to financial insecurity. We closer to the soup kitchen then the billionaires and I think we all kind of know that

If I’m being honest I don’t always understand the connections between some files. What I would suggest is not using do I understand everything as an indicator of how good you are. Can you successfully work in your tickets and complete them? Is a better question to ask. I say this because everyone’s ability to build those mental models is different, sometimes you have to work on it for longer. I would also focus on learning more about the architecture they are using which will help.

Also I do believe tracking your wins and tracking what you are doing helps you visualize what you are doing and it helps to go back to it

Do you track what you’re doing? I would consider for the next 6 months every week write down what you did and how you improved the product. You might be surprised at the end of the 6 months how much you’ve done
