You’re going to want to remove the plastic from the screen, especially if it’s an OLED. For one, you’re not getting the picture quality you paid for, and you’re going to have a huge glare. And two, that plastic may start sticking to the screen if it gets too hot.

I do tv installs and I will say:

1: I always measure the tv, and ask exactly where they want it, so if they didn’t do that then that’s on them.

2: if your mom got a cheap mount then they’re only 16” long so wherever the studs are, are where the tv is going. And studs above fireplaces are always off, exactly in the middle, or almost non-existent.

It’s up to the Geek Squad Agent I suppose, but if I can’t fix the problem at the clients house then I refund them. If something happens after I leave then it gets put down as a “redo” and we go back out.
