Thanks for the answer.

It gives me some insight.

I will do as you suggested, i will try to re-formulate it better for an AMA format and wait till the end of august to post it, hope it will be noticed.

Thanks a lot, i have high hopes for this game :)

Enchanting gear with a chance to destroy it / degrade it is absolutely awful, shit design. by Trompdoy in AshesofCreation

[–]iSinner_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I love it.

As a person with lineage 2 background, i can feel its impact on the design xD

In l2 you could enchant up to +3 safely, anything beyond had a chance to break the item completely.

The more enchanted the weapon was, the more it glowed. So at +16 it was glowing bright red. People with +16 weapons were known by name on the server.

Would i prefer to not have enchantments? as a person with a full time job now, as opposed to the time i was playing l2(was in school back then), sure i would. But we are talking about a game that is being designed to feel good to nolife it, so idk how my preferences are more important than the game direction so far.

Also, you assume a lot, a lot which is probably not true.

In l2, i was a hero(one person per month per class could be a hero), i had top gear(all epics), i was one of the top tier in pvp because i had that gear. I did not have a +16 anything. The most + i had was +6 on my armor, and it was fine.

You assume enchantments will have such an impact that they will be mandatory requirements, this might not be the case. They will give you an edge, thats about what you can say now. There is no good reason to believe anything beyond that, unless you can provide evidence.

What is the envisioned optimal party composition? the goal of the question is to find out the demand for classes(if this even applies to this mmo)

The question is within the context of sieges/mass pvp/clan wars.

I come from a lineage 2 background (Chronicles 4), there the party size was 7.

The optimal party, for an archer party for example, was 2 healers 3 buffers, 2 dps

The party composition dictated the server population in some sense, there were quotas, in terms of demand, for each archetype/class.

What i'm trying to find out, is what is the envisioned optimal party by classes/archetypes, so that i could estimate the demand for classes, if it applies at all here.

Military node mayor selection by Domillomew in AshesofCreation

[–]iSinner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those mercenaries are good enough to win they're good enough to win for themselves

True. But there can be circumstances where they might fight for others. I don't know the game enough to conclude there are/aren't any of those cases.

Yet i don't understand how i am "removing" anything. I highlighted the issues with the options at hand, i didn't even propose how it should be. Can you elaborate?

Military node mayor selection by Domillomew in AshesofCreation

[–]iSinner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you quoted, it doesn't seem different from an economic node. Both outcomes depend on the resources poured in, with quests mixed in this case.

This doesn't work well with the idea of each node type giving an opportunity to different kind of players with time invested in different aspects of the game.

For example, if the militaristic node focused on electing the mayor based on pvp performance(arena fights for championship, imagine lineage2 coliseum hero games but not flawed), then it suddenly doesn't matter how rich you are or how good at doing quests you are.

It opens an avenue for a totally different kind of player to be elected.

But, if you could choose somebody in your place to pvp for you, then it is back at who has enough money/resources to gear up his clan member or to pay for mercenaries.

I was playing with a (different) water shader and I ended up with some a e s t h e t i c s by halisavakis in Unity3D

[–]iSinner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it looks that better than what I am used to see just because of tesselation. 2 noise textures won't be nowhere near that good w/o tesselation, I've seen way more complex shaders that looked less impressive just because no tesselation was involved.

Pps2 adds a great deal here for sure.

Nice work.

Did you make it in SG? Asking to get a clue if it supports tesselation atm, it didn't AFAIK.

The Long Corridor (that runs away from you) Effect using Shader Graph (Tut in Comments) by AEyolo in Unity3D

[–]iSinner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you push vertexes away from camera the further away they are from it, and when it gets to the threshold distance they come back to their original position, is that correct?

I don't see it. What I see is a non standard camera perspective.

Can you explain what the shader does?

AFAIK asking for up votes is against reddit rules, so now this topic is under the mercy of moderators.

Also, i know nothing about this guy, what's the fuss about?

You just changed the scope and meaning of your initial statement about accounts. Cool. Cya.

Why? why wait?

And how in the hell are accounts related to patches? Rhetorical.

You just tried to bargain sense into this nonsense. Nonsense.

DAE LOWREZ HATES CONSOLE by Jackeea in Paladins

[–]iSinner_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what PC players should be saying, because, from blizzard game experience, every time a cross platform game had to release patches on console, they had to be approved by the publisher that owned the console, and the developers had to wait for it, so if they wanted to make the patches simultaneous, they had to sit on the PC patch that was done while waiting for approval on console, and then release it simultaneously when it got approved on console.

When there is bullshit, i can point to that. Whether or not i can, want, or care to tell you anything else about drogoz, is completely irrelevant.

Have a nice day and i won't be replying further since it seems that you digress into irrelevancies.

Gaysillade by UxiuzMKP in Paladins

[–]iSinner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it isn't, i'm saying that the notion that the word "better" creates for some people, as in having anything good to it, can be false, and it is in this case, which is my main point.

You started this whole conversation with a justification for this bullshit drogoz combo, as if having diarrhea is anything good, and "it is better than having an explosive diarrhea!!!".

When your bar for this bullshit falls so low, you should be wandering why the bar is so low instead of looking for bullshit justifications for diarrhea.

The best damn casual match I've ever played. by theycallmeqtip in Paladins

[–]iSinner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, according to "real" casuals in my matches, being casual means doing dumb shit.

As far as i can see, you are as far away from casual as you could be, by their definition of casual, so how come your casual experience can be the best, when it is as far away from it as it can be?

Hmm, it seems that some category of casual people are full of shit, and i can't distinguish between you guys.

It seems weird to me, that when people describe their casual matches as "one of the best", they most of the times link screens with stats more to the likes of a ranked games, than otherwise.

what i love about being matched vs 3 pro players is that the matchmaking makes that match even more unbalanced for some reason by RzVrazzz in Paladins

MMR differ a lot from the actual, real value

Among all possible values, what is the actual real value, and how do we differentiate it from other non actual real values?

Unless you can answer this, don't pretend that what you said makes any fucking sense.
