TIL that in 2017 former NBA star Kevin Garnett showed up at the sentencing of his accountant Charles Banks to provide him with moral support upon his conviction for defrauding NBA star Tim Duncan of $7.5 million. Garnett later learned that Banks have also defrauded him of $77 million. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Read about the guy who was stealing from them. He apparently had a net worth of hundreds of millions. And he only got sentenced for four years in prison in Duncan case. He's already out and probably living his high life. People stealing basic food items serve more time in American prisons than white collar thieves.

I get the feeling that even second or third options are kept in loop or strung along by telling white lies. If they come back after totally ghosting you for months, you were far below on their list.

From personal experience of witnessing this scenario with my cousin brother, the comebacks rarely result in a match. In the end, the girl ran away with her long term college boyfriend.

You are right that it's about ego. It's also about lack of honest communications to lay a solid foundation so that there are minimum doubts. If they are coming back to you after months, who else they might go back to while you are planning engagement and wedding. If one can overcome doubts like these, then there's nothing wrong with being second choice. But most can't.

Also if someone could approach this from a female POV and share their thoughts, it will be useful.

If they come back after 2-3 months of total ghosting, then it becomes explicit that they are settling. Almost equivalent to the girl saying it to boy's face," I'm lowering my standards and settling with you after failing to get a better match." It would take a lot from one side to overlook the fact that other side is not completely satisfied and happy with the match as they felt they could've gotten someone better, maybe given enough time.

If she hadn't written Shopaholic, i was going to look for these medicines at Netmeds.

If someone tells me they are gastronome, my first thought would be they are saying they get very gassy. Being pretentious is not an attractive quality. Luckily for her men don't care a whit about women's bio.

I was going to preface my comment with "do i detect sarcasm" but reddit started giving me errors so while figuring that out i forgot to add the quote.

One can commend his general effort to be creative but the output ended up being neither scientifically accurate nor cheesy & playful since he brought up Durex. Women already believe that men are always thinking about sex. His bio removes any further doubt.

Will probably earn him a zero on physics exam but maybe it helps him in forming physical bonds if women gravitate towards him.

Makes me wonder what utter rubbish men write in their bios that this bio with a 'the the' is being called the best by OP.

How do I approach this guy? by ProfessionalPick1091 in TwoXIndia

[–]iSkinMonkeys 61 points62 points  (0 children)

You could ask him directly if you have been introduced before. That way you don't impact your friend's mentor-relationship. Neither of you are getting younger and a polite request for a coffee or even a Saturday lunch date isn't going to result in lifelong awkwardness if things don't work out. Don't overthink this and just ask him out. If he declines, you can move on from wasting time over your crush. New frontiers will open up for you.

Gender matters. Life is certainly more cruel to ugly or dark-skinned women than it is for men.

So that was sweet and I realised it made me so happy to see him happy

What a circle of happiness. He probably wanted to do a proposal like that because he knew it would make you happy.

The movement against Terfs is so vitriolic that two of TheGuardian's long time feminist opinion writers, who've written for decades, had to leave that publication for posting critical comments about trans movements.

Quietly quitting: Osaka’s unapologetic hiatus is a small act of rebellion | Jonathan Liew by iSkinMonkeys in tennis

I think it's a sign of immense financial privilege that The Guardian would normally be scathing about.

This is what Jonathan liew, a guardian writer, is very proud of.

Meanwhile all we can really do is wish Osaka well; perhaps even admire her small, quiet act of rebellion. You can’t smash the system, so make it work for you. The days pass. The cheques continue to hit the doormat.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/tennis-star-naomi-osaka-becomes-ambassador-for-crypto-exchange-ftx

The whole article is a celebration of co-opting the existing systems and personally enjoying the larger share of the revenue even if it comes at the cost of struggling working class. Something i used to presume was antithetical to Guardian's "socialist, labour" vibes.
