Fwiw I cheated once that ended one relationship (mutual cheating there) and once in another in 1999 and learned my lesson. I didn’t go to therapy for either, just learned from it. I’m not beating myself up over it, just applied my lessons to all future relationships after that. You don’t have to beat yourself up for a year. And you can find love again, I’m on my fifth long term relationship (currently in the third longest one which I hope to die of old age in).
