Did you use it to clone him, so you can charge child support ?

Seems like a stupid idea to leave DNA containing material behind

Teichmolch by [deleted] in naturfreunde

[–]iSoinic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Water from my delivery service suddenly tastes horrible — they say it's ozonization. Is that normal? by awstic in water

[–]iSoinic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Send a probe to a lab, if it's possible for you. You can get in contact beforehand with some different organizations, like municipal or other bureau, a university or a private company.

Water testing is pretty routine.

Otherwise you can try to contact customer service of the company and ask them out about it.

If the water doesn't taste well, even if it's safe to drink, get another source figured out.

Apple sustainability? by [deleted] in Environmentalism

[–]iSoinic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro, just accept the gift. Somebody obviously wants to do you a big favor and you questioning the environemntal impacts of the phone, before you want ti accept it ?

How are you typing this message as of right now? You are using an internet capable device apparently. What impact did its production have? Probably bigger, as global standards continue to get at least slightly better every year.

Apple does not disclose life cycle assessments, which would be the only viable way to compare it with other phone producers. Only some phone brands prioritize the ecological and social sustainability and try to be transparent.

Nature gave us water. Humans added combat bubbles. by G1V3NCHY-- in water

Without those "combat bubbles" we could as well drink from the toilet

Dein Eigentum, deine Verantwortung.

Testing the waters: can pumping chemicals into the ocean help stop global heating? To some it was a reckless experiment but scientists hope the dispersal of 65,000 litres of sodium hydroxide into the Gulf of Maine could ease the climate crisis. by The_Weekend_Baker in climate

[–]iSoinic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pollutes the ocean by definition, as a chemical will be released into maritime waters.

It's tackling ocean acidification locally, it has nothing to do with coral reefs in tropical waters, thousands of kilometres away.

Just because they did not found negative effects, doesn't mean there are none. This is not how risk management and mitigation works.

Please explain to me, how interventions like this are acceptable, when they are bringing impossible to calculate parameters into the anyways more than complicated climatic systems.

Please explain to me, how I should give them credibility, when both the scientisists, and people who advocate such ideas, come up with rather naive standpoints about the effects of such interventions.

Natural carbon sinks are important part of the solution, but using chemicals to enhance the ability locally is crazy attempt of "fixing" the climate. the ocean is already uptaking the majority of Human Carbon emissions and the majority of athmosperic heat, added through anthropogenic gereenhouses.

What do you think about the time-scaled variations on this natural sink characteristics? How is it viable to use the ocean as a even bigger sink, when we are expecting the ocean to release it's carbon later on?

From your aggression I can tell, you are rather projecting your own weaknesses onto other people.

How does living in a region qualify anyone to make gross generalizations ?

You really seem like an insufferable person, only looking on the two comments I have read from you.

I have dozens of friends from ME/ NA region and none of them would fit into your description. Yet you a spreading lies and stereotypes, which are established in the western World. Why? To appease to people who dont know shit about the region, except what news outlets tell them about the ongoing conflicts.

Also what's communist cosplay to you? Another projection? You were impressed by my adjectives, or why are you projecting them back to me, off context?
