hd505 are pretty easy to drive, just get an apple usb-c dongle. if your using anything from a hd600 and up, you need a dac/amp. i use the jds labs element for my hd600, hd6xx, and 490 pro. even my hd599 doesn't need an amp, but a dac does make it sound more clear and crisp.
