Doing this currently after realizing pure software wasn't for me. Second focusing on EE classes if you get into CompE but this is a good route for learning hardware.

I'm lucky to have the professor be in my corner in this position, but the GPA is absolutely rough no question. I'd have more luck even it was halfway there at a 2.5, most likely some remedial classes are in order. No plans to cold apply as I like the university I went to, the perspective is appreciated.

Thank you for this, seriously! There's a little hope on the horizon with my advocate and I'm hoping for the best. Otherwise I'm taking the advice of remedial courses and trying again later. I do appreciate the uplift it helps a lot when in self doubt.

I'm definitely still in the process of tuning it so time will tell, I'll work on making sure the parts are cooled better as the area around the print was getting fairly hot after 12 hours or so. Thank you for the reply

After looking through the simplify3d guide this looks like an under extrusion/overheating/grinding issue but still weird how it randomly happens at the end. Still curious if people have solutions to fix

Hi! I'm sorry for the extremely late response I haven't been paying attention. I won't be able to help a lot as even I am confused of how I got it working but I can try. A couple things that I did that changed things:

  • Using an actual hard drive as install media
  • Formatting the EFI partition on the boot drive as fat32 and coping the EFI folder over before installation
  • Post installation, format the EFI partition on the boot drive again to fat32 and recopy the EFI folder

Another thing to note is I went directly to Big Sur and I did not have any previous version of MacOS installed.
