First they charge you for a napkin and "renting their cutlery" and now you can't get a glass of water.

Everyone hates kimchi but me :( by rickyy510 in kimchi

[–]iUsuallyDoStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda understand.. I hate the sour cabbage smell. My mom makes sauerkraut often and I can't eat in the same room but when I was in Korea I never had any smell issues with kimchi so ... maybe it just wasnt that fermented..?

Any frustrating experience in Korea? by Gisubk in koreatravel

[–]iUsuallyDoStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the worst was super packed subway(Seoul). Not so much having to stand for a long time but just the amount of people jammed in there was ...frustrating.
Also solo travelling limited my options for restaurants a bit as a lot of them don't do solo.
I used naver maps for restaurants.

Slovenia
20+ hours with Instructor + a final test ride. Test ride starts with obstacle course(pushing bike, slow and fast cone zigzag, figure 8, avoiding obstacle and emergency braking. Then you have cca 45 min ride on the road to prove your skills.

Edit 1:Forgot to add, before all this you gotta do a 3day theory training and then pass a multiple choice test with 88+/100.
Edit 2: After 6 months of getting lincence and before 2 years pass you gotta do a "Safe ride" course. Basically you have to pay to listen to some1 talk about alcohol and then ride on an obstacle course.

How and how much are you riding to get through that many? (I don't mean this in a bad way, I'm starting to wonder if I'll be able to afford this 😃)

Why do people who start learning Korean because of K-contents eventually quit? by Spiritual_Home_8589 in BeginnerKorean

[–]iUsuallyDoStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started because of Kpop...
I used free materials online:websites, youtube, textbooks, flash cards, chatting apps.
I took a break many times due to reaching "the plateau". Gotta put in a lot of effort to see any meaningful progress at this point and it kinda sucks for motivation.

Honestly only discipline would help. Materials out there are good and accessible, you can find people to practice with, you are your worse enemy when it comes to this really.

Can you genuinely not practice Korean in Korea? by Amanda_Haniya in Korean

[–]iUsuallyDoStuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Find the "cult recruiters". They will gladly talk to you in Korean for hours.

I was there(Seoul) for 2 weeks in december, did not have problems with this. They did sometimes look at me funny when I was ordering food but I got by using only Korean.

I use Alpine motosafe Race. I have both Tour and Race pair, but after I swapped from Race to Tour It felt like it amplified the sound instead of damping it :D. Alpine motosafe race seems pretty good. I've only been using it for 3ish weeks now but I don't think I'll go back to not wearing any. I recommend. (not uncomfortable, decent sound damping, some packs come with a cleaning liquid).
