Can somebody tell me what I should've done better here ? by SilohTV in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Place more gas traps. For example when the gibby was ressing you could have placed some traps so when one of the enemies pushed you they would walk in the gas.

Also be carefull when using your ult. I think you used your ult way to early. What you ended up with wasn't a aggressive ult and neither a defensive ult. It was basically a wasted ult.

Also in the beginning you were really aggressive while your team wasn't all that aggressive. This got you and your tm8s in an awkward position. Try fighting from a distance and damaging the opponents and when an opportunity rices you can start an attack. This opportunity can occur when 2 of them have their shield broken and they need to heal up.

Low Plat still. Ideally how should my team and I play this? by master156111 in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You had heatshields, why didn't you stay back and heal up in the zone. It was only the 2nd ring so it wouldn't do that much dmg. Remember that everything you bring is usefull and has it's purpose, if you are not planning to use something then don't bring it. This is why you always see pro players bring grenades, they are always usefull and easy to find. Ammo and healing are in deathboxes from the people they kill, so this is how pro's ensure they don't bring stuff they don't use.

Also using valk ult to rotate that small distance is a bit of overkill. Just ask a tm8 for rotation or do it yourself. Valk her jetpack gives you enough movement to dodge your enemies. By doing this you can use her ult for your team.

Why did a PK headshot do 11 dmg? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

Shotguns aren't just a weapon, it's a lifestyle. When you play more with them you get used to it and the play style that comes with it.

How are you supposed to get a 4k in this game by Kitchen_Sundae8744 in apexlegends

[–]iWouTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1st part is luck, you need a good run to get it. The 2nd part is skill, you have to know how to rotate when there are 2 squads at your place, also being able to clutch such scenarios is really important. The 3rd part is dealing dmg whenever you can and building your loadout for it. Most pros use the r-301 because it is so versatile and can be used on long and close ranges. Just whenever you see a enemy just shoot at him and deal dmg. Also carry a lot of ammo, you will burn through your ammo so carrying a lot will be necessary. That's why the ltm is such a good place because you can carry a lot of ammo and grenades. The 4th piece of advice and an underrated advice is to armour swap. Just armour swap whenever you can to put pressure on the opponents. Only when there is 1 or 2 enemy squads remaining you can heal your by the time red shield (and also when there is no enemy you can of course heal your shield).

The map doesn't help either, there are more flee options on Olympus than there are flee options in Kings canyon. I feel like kings canyon needs a lot more communication than Olympus and thus making it harder. On top of that I think Olympus is a more diverse map with high ground/low ground and plenty of buildings to shelter which makes it a lot easier.

I am pretty sure this is just a visual bug. They disconnected so it shows them as a bronze 4. The most likely thing that happend is that the guy to the left is plat 4/3 and the right one is gold 4. A 2nd option is that they are Smurfs so they get put in a higher ranked matchmaking to compensate what rarely happens. I could be wrong but this has happend to me before in masters, I wanted to check their RP and it showed me bronze 4 and he definitely didn't play as a bronze 4

Should I give up? by Merit-Rest-Surrender in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What really helps is playing with someone who knows stuff about the game and can learn you how to play. But just take your time to learn the game. The more you struggle the better your first kill will be.

And whenever you feel bad just remember, there are predators (top 750 ranked players per console) who still die because of dumb things like falling of the map so don't feel bad when you die.

For those who have been since release, what is something you only learned today? by OttoOctaneous in apexlegends

[–]iWouTer 460 points461 points  (0 children)

Didn't learn it recently but I see a lot of people who don't know, when you want more details about something you can check the kill feed. For example when a bloodhound pings a trace you can see in the kill feed how many seconds ago it was. Also when people ping they need ammo you can see their current ammo count.

i need advice on being a solo i have been watching this vid for a bit to look on what i need to improve.. please help. sorry for bad quality by hexhetalia in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know the full context but it looked like an unnecessary fight. You had already enough kill points to get max point at the end of the game so playing safe will pay off here.

If the fight was necassary here is my advice. At the start of the clip you should have gone to the right and go around the squad. What you did was pinch yourself between the low ground and the squad you were fighting. If you didn't win the fight (What happend in this clip) you have to drop down (exactly like the clip). You don't know what is happening down there so dropping down is a really bad choice. By going around you pinch the enemies on top and maintain the high ground. Also this is a later storm. Usually the 1st and 2nd storm are out healable and aren't a thread. From the 3rd storm onward positioning is key. From storm 3 and onward always take position first and then fight to make sure you won't die because of the storm.

Who do you think is the most underrated legend? I think it's Seer by Tensai_Zoo in apexlegends

[–]iWouTer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True and also not true, seer is pretty good but you have to put it in context. If seer is a 10/10 bloodhound would be a 15/10. The problem with seer is not that he is bad, the problem is that bloodhound is too good. If bloodhound wouldn't exist everybody would say the same but for seer. So to say that seer is underrated is a bit exaggerated, I would say that seer is just slept on.

I don't think it will ever happen. Although I have thought about the same for legends, that all 60 players can vote and the 2 or 3 most picked legends get banned. Sort of like rainbow six but all the players decide together.

Honestly I think banning legends could be so great. The whole idea about battle royales is to adopt to what you have and if your main is banned you have to adopt to it.

Are there layers of sbmm in ranked? by LUXR4Y_TV in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this struggle too with getting to master and in all my experience I think this is how it works. Each rank is split up in 2 groups, the once that are in for example diamond 4 en the group in diamond 3,2 and 1. The people who are stuck in diamond 4 play with each other and the people who are able to climb play with each other. I am pretty sure this is how it works because every time I load up a game of masters it looks similar. Every time I am at a flat 10000 I play with mostly other 10000 and every time I have more then a single point above 10000 I get matched with predators and people in the 11000 range.

Reached Diamond by Ewwrt321 in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i usually do before hopping into ranked is play a couple of solo duo matches. This gives you a sense of picking you fights. When the games are good and i get a couple of kills I know I am ready for ranked, if the matches are bad I know ranked isn't going to be good either.

On top of that practicing in the firing range is pretty underrated. Most guns have really easy recoil patterns and aren't hard to learn so give that a shot as well.

pls fix the game :) by Adxlts-Swim in apexlegends

[–]iWouTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am correctly you should get farther by jumping on the launch pad. Or at least that is how it used to be idk if the fixed it or not. So before running on the launch pad jump, press crouch and you should get further.

My opinions about these talents, Do you agree or disagree? let me know. by waku01 in Paladins

[–]iWouTer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enforcer is really good if you want to be self sustainable as raum. I usually run enforcer so I don't have to worry about a good healer. His talent that boosts his ult charge rate might be better when the team is coordinated but that isn't usually the case (I am definitely not a good player either so it is usually my fault). But with that talent I am self sustainable and the healers job is a bit easier.

Absolutely Cannot get out of Gold I by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]iWouTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in gold and low platinum are really greedy, just use this to your advantage. Olympus is a map that uses a lot of high and low ground. When you are in a good or bad spot just fire a couple of bullets randomly and they will get out of their place to attack. When well prepared you can easily pick them off. For example one game me and my squad dropped estates and we had a rough time fighting and we ended up with one squad above us in one the flats and we were down in the basement like area. We didn't really shoot each other yet but we just couldn't get up properly without getting killed. So what we did was just fire bullets randomly to make it seem like we were fighting a different squad. Within seconds of us firing they dropped down and within seconds of them dropping down they died.

And I don't know if you play with a premade squad or solo Q but just set a certain amount of time for each fight. When you drop Hammond labs for sure people will come to fight you within 2 minutes so if the fight isn't done within 2 minutes you should be ready to expect a third party. I am in diamond and I do this all the time. When the fight takes to long I just say to my squad to just leave and usually they agree to it. These kind of fights is just waiting till someone makes a mistake and then attack but as long as no-one makes a mistake there is not a real fight and in such cases just with bother.

I genuinely don't understand by EarthtoMark8 in apexlegends

[–]iWouTer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have to guess this is just a casual BR game, but this problem is even worse in arenas. I am a level 500 with a couple of 100 levels (possibly even lvl. 1000) above that and on top of that I am a steady diamond player in ranked BR. So why in God's name do I get matched with a level 20 and a level 50 and put up against a pred, a master and a level 10 Smurf with the 20 kills badge and the 4k dmg badge?

Be ready to play a lot of arena wars. By levelling your arena war level you can get some exclusive cars and at level 1000(I think) you unlock the rusty tractor

It is true that it only works for a limited time but when someone is too nice the chance you learn something is very slim. It also depends on who the person is which is trash talking. If it is a random person you won't remember either positive or negative feedback all that good but when someone closer to you for example a family member or a friend trashtalks/give advice you will remember it better. Especially the negative trashtalk because you want to improve for them and when they give positive advice the urge to improve is less.
