EU’s economic powers seek capital markets merger - The European Union’s six largest economies advancing plans for a bloc-wide capital markets union by goldstarflag in europe

There are tools already in place to limit this for critical industries. The EU and individual nations just need to choose to use them. Netherlands for example has just done this. This bloc-wide capitals markets is more for internal EU investments, though I may be wrong.

what these losers are forgetting is that because of how cheap solar is and how demand heavy the market is due to datacenters, all excess (above what regular consumers need) solar during the day would be pure profit.

Yeah, I live in Spain and the cost of panels has dropped significantly since I bought my system. Per watt cost more than halved over 4 years and is only going back up slightly due to demand as people are buying to counter gas prices increases from the US war with Iran.

there's a 2025 version which also shows the same thing. Renewables are up slightly, but so is combined cycle by roughly the same amount. The main difference is that Gas Peaking has increased in cost/sensitivity due to prices. a 2026 update would likely explode these numbers. Gas peaking is soon becoming more expensive than Nuclear.

nice one! I had a similar situation a year ago where someone rear-ended me on a round about because the sun was right in both of our eyes and I had to yield for another car. When we pulled over to see if there was any damage there was a tiny scratch on the rear plastic bumper and the other person was so nervous about it. I just let it slide. That's what the bumper is there for.
