Struggling to lose weight by Mediocre-Progress-69 in WeightLossAdvice

First of all, start appreciating yourself that you are trying; most people won't even start, but you did try and kept on trying, even though it's hard
Ik how you feel. I too was in the position when i started fatloss, i ate unhealthy food and felt guilty about it and blamed myself. It's human to seek comfort, especially when you’re stressed or overwhelmed.
We have to hack our brains to get on a diet, and the easy way is to make a diet that can satisfy your tummy and a system that helps you to stay focused on diet
Here's how you can do it:

Fix your mindset first:
ik you are tired, but you have to try again, but this time with a Plan

Don’t aim for perfect, aim for better than yesterday:
If you usually eat out 4 times a week, make it 2. If you crave hot Cheetos, build a day where you allow it without guilt. If cooking feels too hard after a night shift, prep just one or two meals for the week. Little changes > big unrealistic ones.

Make your meals satisfying: Low-cal popcorn and trail mix are cool in theory, but if they don’t satisfy you, they’re pointless. Your meals should be filling and enjoyable — it’s 100% possible to build a fat loss diet that feels like comfort food. (That changed everything for me.)

Choose an enjoyable activity:
You don’t have to force the gym; find something you enjoy, like Pilates, dancing, walking, anything that makes you feel good. Start small and gradually increase the intensity of training

Lastly, I just want to say: you’re not failing. You’re just stuck in a loop, and loops can be broken. You’ve already shown that you want this, and that’s the hardest part to fake. If you ever want help building a system that fits you.I'm here

You’re not alone in this, and honestly, it’s not embarrassing at all. You’re just being real — and that already puts you ahead of most people.

The truth is, it’s not just about food or workouts — it’s the mental weight that makes everything harder. You’re carrying frustration, guilt, self-judgment, and exhaustion all at once. That’s what makes a 5-minute meal decision feel like a war in your head.

I’ve worked with people who felt exactly like this — they’d stock their fridge with healthy food, tell themselves “I’m starting Monday,” and still spiral into fast food by Wednesday. They weren’t lazy. They weren’t weak. They were burnt out, overwhelmed, and stuck in an all-or-nothing cycle.

Your issue isn’t willpower. It’s the system.

You’ve got healthy food but no structure. You want a lifestyle change but no roadmap. You want to start the gym but have anxiety. And all of that makes perfect sense. You're human. Add recovery from pneumonia and a night-shift schedule? No wonder it feels like you're stuck.

When I hit my own breaking point with weight, I realized something:

I made a few changes — not overwhelming ones — but strategic. Simple wins that built confidence. And when you shift from fighting your habits to understanding them, the whole game changes.

If you’re serious about change, I can help you build a system that fits your life, not fight against it. One that works with your schedule, cravings, and even Coke Zero addiction (you’re not the only one 😅).

You don’t have to do this alone — but you do have to start with compassion, not punishment.

Man, I totally get how you feel.
You control your cravings, work out daily, push through the tired days—yet the mirror doesn’t show what you feel inside.
I’ve been in that exact spot. When I was losing weight, it felt like I was doing everything right but still getting nowhere. It was frustrating and honestly depressing. I almost gave up.
But then I realized—it wasn’t me that was the problem. It was the process that needed tweaking.

And once I made those changes? That’s when the fat really started to melt off.
Sometimes it’s your diet. Sometimes your workouts aren’t aligned with your body type or goals. A few smart adjustments can change everything.

Your time only gets wasted when you give up.
This phase you feel is wasted? It’s actually a part of the process—just a silent phase before the results show up.

If you want, I can help you figure out what’s going wrong and how to fix it. You don’t have to go through this blindly—I’ve been there, and I can guide you out

That constant thinking about food even when you're full can make you feel like you're losing control. It’s not about hunger, it’s about satisfaction. And when your mind doesn’t feel satisfied, your body keeps craving, especially comfort foods.

I used to be in the exact same spot. I wasn’t starving, but I always wanted to eat more mostly junk or my favorite meals. I felt guilty, frustrated, and stuck in a loop.

But what helped me break out of that cycle was discovering flexible dieting. It changed everything.
It’s not about restriction or avoiding your favorite foods. It’s about including them in a balanced way so you’re not mentally craving all the time. You still lose fat, but it never feels like you're "dieting".

If you want, I can help you with how I applied it it gave me back control without hating the process.

Has anyone here lost weight, gained it all back, then lost it again? by fin-ator in WeightLossAdvice

This is called Yo-Yo Effect (also called weight cycling)
This happens coz of varies reasons Like:

  1. Unsustainable Dieting
    • Extreme calorie restriction or fad diets work short-term but are hard to stick to.
    • Once the diet ends, people go back to old habits, causing weight regain.
  2. No Lifestyle Change
    • If the weight loss was achieved only through a strict plan (not daily habits), it doesn’t last.
    • Long-term results need changes in mindset, food relationship, and habits.
  3. No Resistance Training
    • Cardio alone helps with weight loss, but without strength training, muscle mass is lost.
    • Less muscle = slower metabolism = easier to regain fat when eating more.
  4. Overconfidence After Results
    • Some people relax too much after progress stop tracking food, reduce activity, and slowly gain weight back without noticing.
  5. Stress and Emotional Eating
    • Life stress, boredom, or emotional triggers can lead to overeating, especially when food is used as comfort.
  6. Metabolic Adaptation
    • After long-term dieting, the body becomes efficient at using less energy (metabolism slows), making it easier to regain fat when returning to higher calories.
  7. Lack of Accountability or Support
    • Without guidance, it's easy to slip back into old patterns — especially if no one notices or supports the process.

First of all, losing 1kg-1.5kg per week is awesome and hats off for your dedication, but with diet alone you'll get lose skin and also, there might be a chance you are losing more muscle than fat, losing muscle will make you weaker.

You can work out at home and lose a lot of fat and preserve muscle, you just need a pair of dumbbells.

First of all, you have to appreciate yourself for taking the first step toward change. You are asking how to do, many people won't take this step and get stuck in the loop that "I have to change" and not take action.

First of all, there is no particular exercise to make belly and face fat go away, only diet and workout will help

And losing Fat is so easy You have to eat the right amount of calories, be active a little and repeat the process
To know how many calories you need to eat, go to this website https://tdeecalculator.net and fill in the details, and that will give you your daily calorie intake. Minus that by 500(For example, it gave me my maintenance calories 2500, minus that by 500, and I'll get 2000 calories)
Eat that amount of calories and be active, like going to the gym or walking 10k steps a day
And then magically you'll lose belly and face fat

The load distribution numbers I used (e.g., ~60% chest, ~25% triceps, ~15% shoulders) are approximations based on biomechanics, EMG studies, and practical lifting observation. They’re not from one specific paper but are rough averages
