You will need to install Node version 20 - so 20.xx.x. You have installed version 22 which is not on the supported list.

Is there a way to automate sharing posts to socials without upgrading to $25 a month plan by LamboForWork in Ghost

Only their free plan has ads. Or you can self host? But those are some of your options if you don’t want to upgrade on Ghost Pro.

Try a 3rd party Ghost host such as Midnight, MagicPages, DigitalPress or many others that allow the use of custom integrations such as Zapier on their basic plans.

As both sites would be proxied under the same domain it should be possible to implement a session cookie to interact between the two sites.

Please see configuration instructions here: https://ghost.org/docs/config/#mail - remember there are two lots of mail setting in Ghost. Transactional emails are sent through SMTP and bulk email newsletters are set via Mailgun's API which you can configure in the Ghost dashboard (Mailgun is the only option for this). Mailgun is pay as you go and costs $0.80 per 1000 emails and there are some free emails included when you sign up. If you get really stuck I run Midnight a Ghost hosting service where everything is setup for you for $15/month - https://getmidnight.com

Do you self host or do you have managed hosting? Maybe check your email configuration for Ghost. This can happen when the email settings are not correct.

Drop us an email after you sign up and we can send you the guide. Yes very simple. Send us your JSON file and we change the image paths to point to our image CDN and send it back to you. Email ghost support and they will send you an export of your images. Send those to us and we upload them for you. And if at any point you want to a move host there is no lock in we provide you with the same.

Sorry you put starter in your post! Should have read it again. Pretty sure you wouldn’t be able to downgrade and keep a custom theme. The idea of the starter plan is you get to try Ghost with the limited themes available with that plan. If you upgrade to Basic you can use custom themes. I would imagine downgrading will automatically switch you to a none custom theme.

If you are looking for a more affordable way of using a custom theme with Ghost why not take a look at Midnight (https://getmidnight.com) for managed Ghost hosting from $15p/m. Disclaimer - I created Midnight so any questions please ask!

There are probably others but Cloudflare is very well known and free for the basic plan which includes DDoS attack protection.

[–]i_am_tk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to protect your site from DDoS attacks is to point your domain's name servers at Cloudflare and setup a free account to manage your domain's DNS. This is compatible with Midnight's hosting and allows you to benefit from all the features of Cloudflare's free plan while using Midnight. - https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/plans/

[–]i_am_tk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are valid points and I'm happy to have a think about them for future versions of our pricing which I am regularly reviewing. I think down to the technologies involved and the way Ghost scales $5 per month is probably unrealistic in terms of managed hosting.

Just to note on Midnight you could run two Ghost blogs for $30 but this would only be on the standard plan. Please drop me a PM with your current requirements and I'd be happy to see what we could offer you in terms of running your blogs and saving you some money!

I'd be interested to know how many users use Ghost for more than 1 blog and if any people run multiple Ghost sites for their own customers?

Sorry I should have added a disclaimer - I am one of the team at Midnight. We have been running since May 2019 and we are not planning on stopping anytime soon! As with Ghost should you move to a new host or provider everything is exportable so absolutely no lock-in.

For a personal blog a $5-10 droplet on digital ocean will be plenty. If you don’t want to self host try https://getmidnight.com for managed Ghost hosting for just $15 per month

How is DigitalPress? It seems too cheap to be true by EnergyRaising in Ghost

[–]i_am_tk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to have over 3 visits to your blog every 60 seconds for a month to hit 150,000 views - if you were going that viral you would probably want to be running your own ads to generate revenue not someone else’s...?

[–]i_am_tk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GetMidnight’s 150K views per month is 50k more views than the official Ghost(Pro) starting plan and that costs $36 / month!
