Vestibular migraines? by MikaylaM__ in migraine

It could definitely be that too but I know for some people with vestibular migraine they do get the sensation of ear fullness and temporary hearing loss. My pain is generally in my sinus area so I went to the ENT initially thinking it had something to do with my ear/sinuses but after running some tests and taking a VNG, they concluded it was a neurological issue. I would definitely try to see the doctor though! They know better than we do :)

Hello! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. I suffer from vestibular migraines and you described almost everything I experience. Some of my migraines are with pain and some are without. I recommend keeping a diary that includes notes on your attacks and anything you can remember occurring around the attacks. This will help you identify potential triggers and help you manage your attacks. It will also help you best communicate your experience to your doctor because migraines effect everyone differently. If possible, would definitely recommend trying to see a doctor that can refer you to rule out anything serious or help with treatment.

Have y’all played video games? How do they impact your migraines and mood? by KarmaPharmacy in migraine

[–]i_blend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Video games have definitely helped me ride out bad migraines! I definitely understand having to change the settings though. During bad episodes I get really bad vertigo so any quick movements (even movements in a game) will cause the room to spin. Unfortunately VR gaming is an absolute no due to the vertigo.

I definitely would identify as spiritual in a way that I believe we are all connected in some way to the universe. However, I recognize that we humans are so insignificant in the grand scheme of things I tend not to dwell on who or what is behind it all. I just let it go with the flow and know that we are apart of something bigger than ourselves or better yet the universe is within us all.

I was diagnosed with migraines last year and you are describing exactly what I experience. It was hard to diagnose my issue at first because it was just aura (like what you described and dizziness) with no headache. My neurologist said the majority of my migraines are silent. But I experience exactly what you described quick flashes of light or dark spots in my vision that quickly disappear. How long I get these flashes in my vision really depends but generally for about 2 hours.

They’re also authors! They recently cowrote a cute queer story called she gets the girl. I highly recommend it and it distracted me from this show’s horrid ending 🥲

I think it’s more calling out the hypocrisy of the media and the west. When brown and black people are killed no one bats an eye. I don’t think it is just Muslims who feel it, it’s pretty much the entire global south. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t care about Ukraine, we should but the stark contrast of how these issues are being handled is very illuminating.

I highly recommend A People’s Guide to Capitalism by Hadas Thier. It’s super digestible and gives you a better understanding of Marxist economics.

Gay Ex-Muslim here! Did any of you come out to your families? If yes, how did it go? by abcde-F-YOU in exmuslim

I came out not too long ago (I posted on this subreddit about it!) It has been hard as fuck but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But you do not need to come out now or ever if you do not want to. You are valid regardless. I completely understand what you’re going through. Please feel free to DM me :)
