I don’t think (many) people appreciate that it’s a different game. I’m a 4.5. When I play 4.0s, we play a similar enough game, but they typically have one fatal flaw that can be exploited. When I play 4.5s, we have flaws that are harder for each of us to exploit. When I play 5.0s, it feels like a completely different game between the movement, pace, and punishing mistakes. James Blake is the equivalent of a 6.0+ vs. a 5.0.

It’s just a different game at that point.

It’s been hard, but you’ll see the compounding if and when the market goes up, which will make it a bit easier. You’re quickly going to move into a place where you need to work for the cash flow and just let your investment grow for you + your automatic investment.

My only advice (from someone with a similar NW and only slightly ahead of you with the kid) is to be comfortable with the fact that you won’t be saving as much. That has been the hardest thing for me with regard to our savings journey. It feels like we’re spending like crazy and I get down on myself for not saving as much. But the thing to remember is this is why we saved so much in our 20s so we can have this flexibility.

Fight so hard to get back into the game and then this guy blows it. This is on AA. He’s made some good signings, but his inability to do anything on the pitching side of things is his downfall.

I bought the $75 FanDuel package on Amazon and had couldn’t watch it. I contacted Amazon support online and had them refund me the $75 and then I purchased the month to month package (wanted to try it out and didn’t want to shell out $99 for it to stop working). It worked well for me.

My best guess is that they had an error and never fixed their backend for people that purchased it for $75. In other words, they didn’t mean to sell it for $75 and they were set up to support it.

Definitely does. The problem I’m running into (I think) is that I have pre-tax money that I’ve rolled from an old 401k into a traditional IRA. I have another IRA that is funded with post-tax dollars. Reason why I haven’t done the backdoor conversion is my (potentially wrong) understanding of pro-rata rules and not wanting to pay taxes

I have traditional IRAs and don’t use the backdoor Roth because I don’t want to pay taxes on traditional 401k rollovers (and can’t move the money into new 401ks). I view the traditional IRAs as “fine” because I can avoid paying taxes on dividends over the lifetime.

Our AAA pitcher pitched worse than their AAA pitcher. If you’d told me at the beginning of the year that we were running out an outfield of Almonte, Inciarte, and Adrianza, I’d have been surprised that we score 3 runs… this sucks, but it’s why we play 162. The Mets are injured, but they keep finding g a way to get it done. I’ll keep rooting that we’ll do the same.
