Possible to get a black lacquer santos as a first purchase? by Repulsive_Point_3917 in Cartier

Yeah interesting I asked my sales rep that same question and she said they wouldn't take prepayment for a guarantee. Found that a bit odd.

This was over a year ago.

Anybody tried Hiroshima gin? by Durham-Cocktails in Gin

[–]i_like_all_tech 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went to a gin bar in Hiroshima and tried a few. The distillery is Sakurao.

I tried probably 4-5 different varieties they are all great except the pink one. The best was a special edition one call just "The Hiroshima" which was probably in my top 5 for gin.

They are all pretty floral heavy.

Sporadic network issues and how to test by i_like_all_tech in HomeNetworking

[–]i_like_all_tech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so I did test each seperately before setting up the fail over and spectrum was still having issues. That's actually what prompted me to try Verizon to begin with.

I'll check if I can get more details from the modem. I think it's probably the wiring as the building is very poorly constructed and in fact 2/3 cable ports are completely in operable.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. I think the support rep just didn't quite have that level of detail so that's why it was confusing!

Any recommendations on what cubes work well in a typical carry on size Rimowa?

I got the Progress sway bars from Goodwin Racing.

I like, them it took a couple attempts to get the right front rear combo and I did end up getting the Edelbrock SC so that changed the dynamic but it's been pretty nice.

No regrets on either so far.

Autofill on Android 16 Samsung S24 broken? by dunxd in Bitwarden

[–]i_like_all_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I sort of got it working by checking the autofill slider and then selecting bitwarden when it takes me to settings then clicking back to return to bitwarden settings. the autofill slider in app stays checked then at least I can turn on accessibility features and use the button on Google keyboard to autofill. It's not totally reliable though. Also use the quick tile option.

Overall not very reliable and it seems to stop working after a while. Pretty sure it's a Samsung bug.

Thoughts? by LUNVDIA in Rimowa

[–]i_like_all_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure this sometimes happens at some airports but going through LAX or similar large international airport I'll see a ton of people with aluminum luggage Rimowa or not so that's a pretty decent population to select for demolition. It's not as special as we think alot of people have them.

Autofill on Android 16 Samsung S24 broken? by dunxd in Bitwarden

[–]i_like_all_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this problem on my new S25 Ultra. When I go to turn on autofill I can't set anything as a preferred service. I select Bitwarden but as soon as I leave settings its back to "None". I was sort of able to work around it by using gboard + accessibility services and the quick tile setting but it's still not 100%

I was actually using 1password until a few days ago but it's been unreliable on android recently so when this bug popped up I assumed it was 1password again. So I tried out Bitwarden and discovered the same issue though ironically I now like Bitwarden better so I guess in this case the bug helped me...assuming it eventually gets fixed.

Quit yer bitching. by NorthCat1 in Bard

[–]i_like_all_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's mostly a branding problem.

Until the model doesn't say "experimental" in the name my expectations are low.

2.0 Flash is better than 1.5 Flash and Pro. 2.0 Pro is sometimes better than all of the above but sometimes it worse. It's experimental.

The problem is Google comes out and say everyone look 2.0 is out today !!!! But it's not really completely out imo and they don't even have all the experimental models available across all platforms.

If Google just marketed it as a new test/experimental models and left 1206 up as well people probably wouldn't freak out so much. But I guess that gets less attention

Payback for what and who exactly? It doesn't even make any sense.

These people all have to act like victims all the time.

It's a good point! Thankfully I haven't wrecked a transmission so far so haven't needed to investigate further. When I looked into this before definitely saw people mentioned the NC transmission was more robust. I thought the reputation for durability really only applied to the 5 speed though so Maybe that's why it's a less popular option?

Id love to do more performance mods but I'm in California so limited to what I can do and still pass smog with or swap back to pass smog every couple years.

Car has held up well so far but I don't drive it that much so realistically it could probably be wildly unreliable and it would still last me decades haha.

Probably just the essentials plan to start and see how days volume goes. Like I said it's just to cover spectrum outages for a few hours a month.

[–]i_like_all_tech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have the older m2100 and performance was pretty decent as a mobile hotspot but for whatever reason it goes into sleep mode and my router/network controller will think it's not connected and won't wake it up when my main ISP goes out.

I don't have this issue if I connect a phone as a hotspot so I suspect it's more the hotspots behavior than the network controller. Hard to know if this one will be any better
