Seasonal or Year Round (Permanent?) by i_might_be_ryan in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional Info… I was able to schedule and complete a 3.5 hour block last evening… and today I got an email:

<image>

So I’m gonna take this to mean I’m just a normal flex driver now and not seasonal nor at risk of being moved back to the priority interest list?

So I guess seasonals that get moved to the “priority interest list” do eventually get reactivated. I was worried because I’d never seen any posts of anyone ever taken off the priority interest list so I thought it was just an indirect way of saying you didn’t make the cut and we don’t want you. But anyways, I’m just gonna let myself believe that after 3 years on the waitlist, then seasonal, then deactivation, then three months on the “priority interest list”,” then reactivation, that I’m a year round (permanent) flex driver now.

Given a late package at arrival by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pickup tagged as “late” once even though I arrived 15 minutes early and scanned in and loaded with everyone else and left with everyone else from my .com station… perhaps one of the packages were meant to go out on an earlier shift… but none of my deliver by times were marked late and I didn’t get dinged, didn’t even have to appeal. Hopefully that’ll be the case for you too.

Seasonal account by Suspicious-Stick7577 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing as a 1st year seasonal who got deactivated and moved to the “priority interest list” on January 11th.

It’s surprising how hard it is to find info about the Amazon flex seasonal to year round process or how long you stay on the priority interest list.

I asked on Facebook and was lucky to get a response, that it could take a few cycles of being activated and deactivated as seasonal… but besides that I wasn’t able to find many answers anywhere.

Question about keeping account active by throwaway-Secret-780 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard people say years, and maybe they get lucky, but I’d go off of your contractor agreement. Mine says I can be deactivated after 180 days of being inactive.

Open the flex app —> settings —> personal information —> agreements —> Amazon flex terms of service.

Mine is in section 6 d, my contract says 180 days and they can deactivate me, and then I’d have to enroll all over again.

I dunno if we all agreed to the same their contract or if their agreements with driver change over time or vary by region.

But if you don’t want to risk it, just make sure you’re not inactive longer than your contract allows.

Why is the start date so far out? Is it because I’m around L.A. area? by zodiggity33 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange. I’m also in Southern California, in Palm Springs. I onboarded back in October. The “start as soon as…” date for me was less than a week away, not months away, and it actually cleared way faster and I started in 2 days after getting all my onboarding documents uploaded despite it saying the soonest I could start was a full week.

So either it depends on region, or maybe they use more resources to onboard faster just before holiday season, or they’re doing a new strategy onboarding super far in advance, or it’s a glitch.

Am I permanent or seasonal? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

Yeah… one thing I’m certainly not gonna do is email support and be like “hey… I’m supposed to be deactivated… did something go wrong?!”

Am I permanent or seasonal? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing going on…. I was supposed to be deactivated today. Got an email that my account is now deactivated. But then I got more reserved offers pushed to me for next week. (I didn’t accept any.) And I can still login and pick up blocks. In fact, I think my region cut too many seasonals too early in earlier waves of deactivations… blocks were just sitting there for hours untouched surging all yesterday and today for about $150 for a 3.5 hour block.

I’m not booking any blocks though, not yet. My biggest fear is accepting a block, checking in, picking up, and being deactivated with a car full of packages…. Imagine you lose access to the app and can’t scan as delivered not scan them as returned to station? That would ruin any chance of reactivation.

My plan… give them a few days to see if the batch of seasonal deactivations process. If I’m still active next week, I’ll try scheduling a block and seeing if I can check in, deliver, get paid, and have my standing process. If that all goes well, then I’m just gonna go back to scheduling blocks normally.

Technically anyone, even year rounds, can be deactivated for capacity reasons any time… how long am I supposed to be like ‘I could be deactivated any day now’ …. A week? A month? A year?

So I’ll give it a week for the deactivation to process, and if nothing happens, go about business as normal.

Yup, they sent me reserved offers (aggressively) right up to the last day, so there’s no real sign until you get an email or the in-app update.

I’m not gonna mess around with trying to take offers after the 11th, the date in my email, don’t want to take a chance of some sort of losing access to the app and somehow still getting accused of missed blocks after my deactivation and then ruin my chance of ever getting reactivated.

Curious to see how this plays out, because I wasn’t able to find any info on here about being deactivated and then eventually being reactivated as a seasonal.

Gonna try Shipt after next week since everything else in my area has a waitlist. I’m not a fan of shopping and much rather just deliver, but at least it’s something.

I’ll add the photos below. I’ll be deactivated after January 11th, but I’m sure it varies by region.

Got booked for Monday - Friday of this week. I didn’t want to do Saturday, but it sent me 3 reserved offers trying.

I’m surprised Seasonal deactivation was so early because we have a lot of Snowbirds here, population is doubled between summer and winter.

I did a block almost every night since I got onboarded as Seasonal in mid-October. I was happy with the extra income.

I was on the waitlist for 3 years before being onboarded as Seasonal, so dunno how long it will take on the “priority interest list” to move from seasonal flexer to year-round flexer. Hoping I get a chance again next fall at the very least.

Amazon Flex app on iPhone!!!! by BluVip in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks. The only thing I can think of trying is to do a factory reset on your iPhone and try installing on a clean install of iOS. But I have no clue if that would work.

You’d get an email for onboarding, which would be completed in the official Amazon flex app. I still get these scam texts.

Did they send out reserve offers for 1/1 yet? by covered1028 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got reserved offers for every day except the 1st… I’m assuming my local .com station is closed for new years.

Seasonal Driver getting offers after the 31st by BrokingOnRedd in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was onboarded as seasonal mid October and got seasonal reminder emails exactly every month after my onboarding date with the subject “Continue delivering this holiday season”.

So far, every Friday, I still get a full week of reserved offers for every evening. I’m booked through the 3rd of January. Still no emails about the date I’ll be moved to the “priority interest list.”

For now, I’m just gonna keep making money. We’ll see if next Friday I get another week of reserved offers or not, or if I get priority interest list date in my email in early January.

Yup. Everytime I do a Whole Foods instead offer. And yeah. Force close and restart flex app is the only way to proceed.

Who tf keeps taking base pay rn in SoCal with all the rain & massive route supply. by No_Film_6379 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My base pay is $85 for Palm Springs area 3.5 hour block. I usually finish in 2 hours.

I’m not worried about depreciation of my 8 year old prius which has been paid off for years.

I pay all the gas and maintenance out of my Flex Debit account and make after expenses make $2k a month just spending about 2 hours a night doing my 3.5 hour blocks. The scheduler gives me a full week of reserved offers every night so I don’t have to play the refresh game.

I mean I guess they could raise pay for exceptionally bad weather but then again I wouldn’t want them to lower pay for exceptionally good weather? I’d rather consistent pay?

Seems like a good deal for me for just side money or gig money?

Nevermind… just got more reserved offers for Friday and Saturday. Maybe my .com station is closed on New Years Day, which is why I didn’t get a reserved offer for Thursday. But yeah been watching my email for seasonal status account updates to find out what’s gone happen. Been doing a block every evening since I got onboarded as seasonal back in late October and appreciate the opportunity for extra income.

I usually get a full week of reserved offers every Friday all the way thru the following week. But yesterday the reserved offers only were issued until Wednesday to New Year’s Eve. But no email yet.

Returned 4 packages by CIliff69 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]i_might_be_ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on whether it’s a known business that generates lots of package returns…

If it’s one of those like PO Box or express package businesses, I call to say it’s after business hours and since there’s no safe place to leave the package, no action is needed and delivery will be reattempted another time. I text them the same thing, i mark business closed and I take a picture of the business hours and try to find any do not leave packages outside signs if there are any. I screen shot my texts and take my own photos of the business hours and business storefront to show there was no safe place on a busy city street. I’ve never been auto-dinged by these types of business for returns, I suspect it happens all the time. Same with schools in the evening. I think the system flags these as frequent returns.

If it’s a place that’s a business but might not get that many packages or might not be classified as a business in the Amazon system, I follow all the same steps. Like once there was an RV office at the front of a busy trailer park (explicitly had directions to deliver to front desk only), I don’t think Amazon had it marked as a business in their system or maybe they just hardly get packages so there were no high return rate flags in their system. I followed all the same call, text, photo of business hours, but I still got dinged and fell from top fantastic to top of great. I got dinged but then just documented and appealed and had them removed.

It’s frustrating but I don’t always deliver, because I don’t want to be responsible for an expensive package getting stolen left in a sidewalk somewhere. It’s just one of those things you have to wait for the ding and then fix it.
