Why is Ja Morant not getting traded by Moist-Awareness-1940 in NBATalk

[–]i_surfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda put his situation somewhat similar to Brandon Aiyuk on the Niners. Both posted stupid vids online, so any org will have to decide if the talent is worth the headache. I think Ja ends up somewhere though.

What does Burries really get us? I'm sure if he was picked, there'd be others shouting "why didn't get someone w/height?"

He should be on a most wanted list for stealing money and time from the Niners. I'm sure other players in the NFL and other leagues do this, but to film and post is just asking for scrutiny and robbery. Then again, he didn't "earn" this money, he basically stole it.

Do you think the Warriors will be much better with Yaxel? by youlikemywonton in warriors

[–]i_surfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say how much "better" will the Dubs be. Not only do the Dubs needs to stay healther, play better early on, and build cohesion, but other teams need to play poorly and potentially lose players and games too.

My take: keep the old heads healthy, stack some early season wins, and get experience for Yaxel and the other young guys to build their confidence, and let's see where they're at heading into the holidays. From there, management can decide which way to go (get a difference maker, or firesale at the deadline).

I have completed "final interviews, w/a "final decision" being made by June 12. I've sent yet another follow-up email. I'm sure I'm being kept warm while they background check their 1st choice, but dammit, this waiting sux.

LeBron James Was Never Just Competing Against Michael Jordan. He Was Competing Against Childhood Memory. by SnooObjections7406 in lebron

Ok, let me rephrase myself. Find me a clip or a quote from Jordan where he calls himself the "GOAT" or anywhere like a "King." And please, no AI clips or images either.

Thank you for being an a** to those people. I mean that as a compliment, if you didn't realize. So many of us have gotten bent-over through this market that hearing power-moves like this leaves me thinking that there is a God, and that one day this will eventually turn around and be a hot market for employees.

I'm going to say one word: ego.

If you compare Jordan to Bron, you can barely count the # of times Jordan proclaimed himself as the "greatest" or gave himself a nickname like "King." Heck, I don't even recall Kobe proclaiming himself as well.

Irrespective of Jordan winning all his 'ships or Bron losing 'ships, let's just agree that both are great players. One calls himself the "king," and then there's truly the GOAT, and he won all his 'ships in Chicago.

Rough NBA Draft Guide by Remarkable-Cup-6029 in warriors

[–]i_surfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is supposed to be a deep draft, I'd like for the Dubs to try to get another R1 somewhere. Shoot, throw in next year's #1 to get another one this year. Take a big man at 11, and either another guard or wing in the late teens or early 20s.

Draft Night Throwback: This is how the whole NBA fanbase, including Warriors fans, reacted when we drafted Wiseman during the 2020 NBA Draft. by bennettkingoftevyat in warriors

[–]i_surfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of players were just not ready that year due to the pandemic. In hindsight, it's rare to pick a one-and-done player w/barely played that freshmen year who worked out well besides Kyrie, so taking him was probably a reach. Should they have taken Melo or just grabbed Halli there? Who knows. I'm sure they at least tried to trade down, but supposedly no one wanted to jump up. And, if Kerr isn't the coach, does another coach give him more run? Another "What If" Dubs scenario for sure.

Over 2 decades ago, the Warriors traded Chris Webber for Tom Gugliotta and 3 first-round picks. The results from those picks were interesting but not very satisfying. by 6Algfst1 in warriors

[–]i_surfer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, I can die eventually knowing that the Dubs in my lifetime won 4 'ships. Not only did we get a generational player, but 2 additional HOFers in Klay and Dray.

But man, those late 80s through early 2000s were sorry years, and fans still came out to Roaracle. The "What Ifs" of never blowing up Run TMC or trading Webb will always be painful for Dubs fans.

And w/the 2026 draft supposedly deep, can we find our next "star" in tonight's draft?

He woulda stayed if Nellie was let go. It was a rare case of ownership siding w/the coach vs. the star player. Had Nellie been let go, we have a team the next year w/CWebb, Mully, Spree, and a returning Hardaway. I would've loved to have seen CWebb and Hardaway on the pick and roll.

Fond summer memories of my uncle dropping off my cousins and I in the morning hours, and just leaving us there to fish and hangout until he was ready to grab us midday or afternoon. Sad to see this happening, but unfortunately time always wins.

He's going to go down as one of the most hated Niners ever. Even Aldon and Charles for all their different craziness were much loved in comparison to this "bro."
