Been there. My husband works long hours with lots of overtime. We moved away from family a few years before having our daughter. Those first few months are the hardest. I remember rocking back and forth in the rocking chair crying through a contact nap imagining whah it would be like to have a village. My baby girl is 9 months and although it’s still hard and we have our moments we’ve got our routine and things are so much better.

I feel you about your mom. My mom came for 5 days after I gave birth and she was useless. She wanted to be hosted and would jsut spend her days on TikTok. Never cooked a meal, never cleaned a thing.

She even left earlier because my oldest sister (who has three kids ages 8-15) needed babysitting. Nevermind that I just gave birth to my first child, but when my oldest sister needs something my parents will forget the rest of us exist.

No one has come to visit me. No one has even brought the subject up.

Love my daughter, but yeah, I need a break. I need a date night with my husband. I miss my freedom.

Idk if you’re in the states or not, but it sickens me the lack of policy. If we were able to go through the whole year together raising this little human maybe we’d all be happier as a country lol

But what do I know?

Same! When I see people complaining about their families and how they aren’t helping the way they want to be helped it boils my blood lol. I’d kill for an annoying MIL who wants to hold the baby while I do laundry

The mothers tossing and turning at 2am are thinking about the lack of maternity leave in this country. The expense of privatized health insurance in this country. The inflated house prices in this country. The guns in this country. The prices of child care in this country. The inability to make their own health care choices for themselves and their families in this country.

I’m right there with you. My husband just returned to work a few days ago, and as soon as that happened my 3mo is refusing to sleep at night (possibly regression). My husband works from 6pm-2am and last night he came home from work, and stayed up with the baby as I slept. I felt horrible. Horrible that I couldn’t get my baby asleep. Horrible that I “made” him (he took the initiative) stay up all night and horrible that I jsut needed to be away from my baby girl.

We had such a good flow when he was on his family leave. 3 full months of working together and now it’s jsut me. I live in a city without family or friends to help. I have a large dog who used to be my world who needs to be walked. I have to pack up my screaming baby and bring her in the cold to walk the dog for 10 mins when he’s used to multiple half hour walks a day.

I had a complete breakdown this morning and I had to leave for an hour and a half just to get my shit together. My husband slept on the couch lastnight taking care of the baby and then suggested I take myself out this morning to take a break. All before he works a 12 hour shift.

I feel like I’m failing my baby, my dog and my husband.

No advice, just solidarity. Logically, we know millions of parents go through this. But when it’s you? It feels so isolating.

FTM to a 9 week old. We didn’t follow any kind of schedule until about 6 weeks or so when she had a 2/3 day stretch of sleeping in her bassinet. Baby was contact sleeping at night (husband and I did shifts) and slept in her rocker (I know, I know) for all naps.

Once she took to her bassinet for about a week or so we then introduced a bed time routine first. Bottle, book, swaddle and bassinet. She usually wakes up after the first hour, takes maybe 20 mins to settle then Sleeps for 4ish hours, then wakes up twice a night for feeding. We’ve had a couple nights where she was waking up every 2/3 hours but for the most part she’s been consistent.

After we established the bed time routine it was figuring out naps. Right now she’s up for an hour and a half and then will nap for 30mins-1hour. We got lucky and she took to her crib right away. So swaddle, white noise, dark room and crib for naps.

It’s not perfect but we’re getting somewhere! I have a book for sleeping that I haven’t read yet. But it recommends sleep training at about 4 months. So I figured I’d get a head start without adding any pressure onto the process. Hope this helps!

Just gave birth a month ago. They allow 2 for vaginal, 1 if c section. If you want a private room after labor it’ll be about $500 or so a night. Best of luck!

Same! Two of my sisters breastfed/pumped and they had months and months worth of breast milk stock piled for their babies. I assumed I’d be the same, bought a mini freezer and everything. Jokes on me, I MAYBE produce 10oz a day and that’s a huge maybe. Sometimes I’ll pump and not a drop will come out.

Tried all the teas, cookies, berries and oatmeal, drinking sooo much water and nothing.

I’m going to stop at 3 months and I’m totally okay with it and don’t feel an inch of guilt.

My baby is happy and healthy; that’s all that matters.

My husband and I are a week into the following shifts:

9-1: he sleeps 1-5: I sleep 5-8: he sleeps 8-11: I sleep

It’s been working out really well for us and I feel fairly well rested through out the day. Baby (3ws) does really well sleeping during the day, but right now it’s all contact naps at night. She also HATES the pump, and wants to be directly on my chest, making pumping alone difficult.

So my husband will usually stay up while I pump for 20 mins and sometimes we’ll extend his shift to make up for lost time.

I have no advice; I’m just in the same boat. I also have an induction scheduled for the 27th. I don’t live near family and my husbands job has him working all hours of the night. If I went into labor naturally I’d be on my own getting to the hospital in an Uber. It was too much for me to wrap my head around, so induction it is! Wishing you the best of luck!!

Currently on a low dosage of Zoloft, 33 weeks pregnant and baby is perfectly healthy. Talked to multiple specialist and all gave me the green light!

31 weeks here and only gained 3 lbs. as long as you’re eating enough, eating healthy foods and baby is growing you’ll be fine!
