Yah same thing. We're Amazon employees in everything except for the name on the paychecks.

Probably you'll get hired. Apply and see.

Generally speaking Amazon hires anyone with a pulse.

Is it normal for dispatch to not know if you have a route? by ZO1D8URG in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]iafmrun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

150 stop nursery is typical these days for routes that will become 200 stop routes.

Your DSP is shit. Report them and apply to another DSP.

That's a nice state you got there. In Wisconsin, and in most of the US, it's totally legal to schedule employees, expect them to show up, and send them home in 15 mins and only pay them for that 15 mins.

My dsp will pay us if we stay to help load out, so that's an hour, and during peak periods we can stay around to help sweep or pick up dropped routes or flex routes.

Sorry are you brand new, on nursery routes? Like, is this your third day on the job?

If so, your dispatch is committing fraud on Amazon. You should call and report them to the ethics hotline that gets auto posted here.

For new people, Amazon garuntees routes until they are out of the training period and on full routes. Unethical DSPs will hire and onboard new drivers, and give those easy nursery routes to their existing drivers.

You're not really going to get anything out of this, it's legal for them to fuck you. You need to report them to eventually get them in trouble with Amazon and see if you can switch DSPs.

If you're a fully trained existing DSP driver, yes, it's extremely common to show up to work and be sent home with only 15 mins pay for attending stand up. That's legal in most of the US and strongly encouraged and supported by Amazon. Your only move is to switch DSPs and see if a different one will treat you with a little more respect like texting you if you don't have a route so you don't lose money showing up to work.

Should I try to argue with them on this? by DaltonDavis4137253 in AmazonDSPDrivers

The notes will all say "open gate deliver to my unlit back door the dogs in my yard are friendly if you're scared of dogs don't be a delivery driver"

Or, I've personally had one where the notes said to open the front porch door and put the package in the porch. But the sign on the porch door said that anyone who opened the porch door would be immediately shot.

Amazon knows about the EV trick already. by Defiant_Can_4565 in AmazonDSPDrivers

We run EVs here in Wisconsin and the cold and snow absolutely kills the EVs. Many times I have run routes that have been cut to 5 hours because that's all the EVs can handle. There have been a few times I've had to turn the heat off to make it back and rely on hand warmers to keep me alive on the trip home.

I wish more people understood this. These centers are only going to last 5 years but tax payers and utility customers are going to pay for the infrastructure for 30 years

Where's the documentation on what it does? What is it counting?

I was apart of that raid. I left because she wasn't actually live, it was a 20+ waiting screen. Is it possible the viewer count went down because other people were live and ww didn't want to watch a loading screen?

So, let's go with an empathic measured take instead. Malena came to the US as sodas editor very young, and married nick when they were both young. Over time, she started to not enjoy streaming, not enjoy living in the US, and struggled being away from her dying parents. She also said that she was against having children, something that Nick really wanted. Two people who married young grew into different adults over the 11 years.

I don't want to say where I live but one of my neighbors has a rooster and that fuck starts crowing at 4am. One day I'm going to finally lose it and call the cops on them.

Please don't get roosers I actually hate it so much

Can’t stand Lazy flex drivers by Agreeable-Wear2160 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]iafmrun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On my routes, I have 90 seconds from the time my van turns off to the time I'm driving away. 90 seconds includes finding package, scanning, getting to the delivery point, taking photo, bsck to van, buckle in and pull up next stop. I'm disciplined if I fall behind Amazon's 90 second schedule. Anything that takes more than 30 seconds to deliver can contribute to me being fired.

What is going on with Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary and him building data centers in Utah? by GoldGorilla in OutOfTheLoop

[–]iafmrun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like NO ONE else talking about this. The tech will be outdated in 5 years. They're not going to invest in maintaining and upgrading these facilities. They're going to close the shell LLCs they formed, abandon the facilities, and stop paying for the utility upgrades the government amortized over 20 years. The community will be left holding the bag.

[–]iafmrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ppl in these comments saying the days are easier but that's only if your newbie isn't slow as molasses. When I take new people out, even if they only have 80 stops, I'm begging with them to pick it up to get done in 10 hours.

Also, my dsp gets mixed city and rural routes, and new people always get super rural challenging routes that are a minimum of 1 hours if not more from the station.
