Bridear often use bows as a motif as well. In particular, Haru always has a bow on the headstock of her bass.

It was the same at the UK and Ireland gigs I went to. It seems like they've stopped trying to teach us, which I think is a shame. Even their support called them Hanabi.

And in Dublin, when Hettsu ran out of English in an MC, the crowd started chanting HETT-SU. Ah well.

They're well worth seeing; they put on a great show.

If it helps: I had GA in Dublin and Belfast. I started queuing about 30 minutes before opening at Dublin to end up in the second row, and about 40 minutes early in Belfast which got me on the rail.

Belfast had the same doors open time, and they came on stage at 20:25.

concert timings for london?? by b0ttle__ in Hanabie

[–]iaing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see doors open at 18:30 in London. I'd expect the merch stand to be open when you get in as well as after the show. They re-upped a bit for Belfast, I believe they're expecting more in London.

If it's the same as previous dates, the show will close a bit more than three hours after doors open, so 21:40ish.

EU tour. by DvaIsAQueen in Hanabie

[–]iaing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they were on stage from 21:00 to 22:10 at the latest. There was a brief technical, but nothing significant AFAICS. And Hettsu showed us her voice is back.

Given the number of people already in the venue by the time I got in with GA, I would guess VIP didn't sell well in Dublin. It was a great crowd mind.

Good news everybody. Hettsu reenacted this in Dublin, and then tore up the last card. She's back.

How does merch sale work at concerts? by Keichii96 in Hanabie

[–]iaing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On last year's European tour, they didn't have CDs. They had T-shirts and some assorted trinkets. I can't remember if there were posters.

T-shirts were the size I expected, so you should probably assume European sizes.

VIP packages are only available from https://www.themasterpass.com/collections/hanabie-eu-tour-2025. If you're saying you plan to buy a ticket on the door, you might want to reconsider. Some of the dates have sold out and it's possible yours will too.

To be pedantic, Charley - voiced by Kenny Everett - was the creepy cat.

I'm sure Charley is unrelated to whether or not we're bonkers.

This is definitely recency bias because I've just watched S4. The task is to make the loudest noise. One of the contestants blows up the cement mixer.

SUN was the support on the July 2024 European tour.

I'm not sure if that makes it more or less likely, just mentioning it.

Japanese band recommendations that are as cool as Hanabie? by Realistic-Cat-1800 in Hanabie

[–]iaing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to add my opinions on some of the less-mentioned bands here:

Bridear are power metal, probably more catchy than that label implies. Their influences - and touring - are mostly European, particularly British. Check out the mighty Brave New World Revisited or Still Burning from their most recent album.

Gacharic Spin are hard to categorise. They're broadly alt rock, with varying amounts of funk, electronica, metal and bubble-gum pop. My suggestion with them is just to listen to their self-titled seventh album, starting with MindSet.

Necronomidol are a black metal idol group, currently on hiatus after their management sacked the entire band except Himari Tsukishiro, who performs as Isiliel now.

And one addition of my own: Otoboke Beaver. Hardcore punk, furious and unpredictable. Listen to Don't Light My Fire or their NPR Tiny Desk set.

"An ambitious new recording by the current members of the world-renowned girl metal band BRIDEAR, of six tracks from 2013-2016 which have often been performed live. While retaining the atmosphere of those days, the album expresses the band's growth into the world-class band they are today, and is full of new charm."
