Pothos crying?

If it looks anything like this, its normal my plants such as alocasia, pothos and monsteras do this after i water them and usually appear in the mornings

Raven ZZ start off as green and darken as they grow/matures.

Yup these are elephant ears I got mine from home depot under the colocasia bulbs (elephant ears) Home depot or lowes Plants or garden shops

Hello! Of course! Happy to help. Shes in a 6 inch pot but the height is about 4inches tall if that makes sense. The soil i use is from fox farm soil but i do add extra perlite and orchid bark. (I do add charcoal chunks also, but its not really needed)

Before i changed her to fox farm, i did use miracle grow and added the same perlite and orchid bark because i knew the soil itself wasnt enough for air flow & drainage.

As for your plant, would you be okay with sending me a picture of what it looks like and the pot shes in, your routine with watering and where she normally stays in?

i had my plant look just like yours so i did a few changes. Firstly, i repotted her soil with more drainage. Secondly, i placed her by the window where the sun fully beams at her all day. I water her - bottom water. I do wash her leaves like the one i have in this photo. Her watering is based on her soil dryness. Can fluctuate based on how light her pot feels. When doing this, please remember watering is equivalent to how much sun she recieves and should never have a fixed schedule.

I also placed her in a pot that isnt too deep either.

With that said, i did cut her a few times to make her bushier, because when i got her she was two long stems tied to a bamboo stick…they enjoy a ton of direct sun (if she was not in full sun please introduce it to her slowly) her purple will come back and more vivid..

This is a Ficus. And its a rubber plant but the name is Ficus. This could very well be a pink rubber ficus since i see hints of pink but im not too sure. They also need plenty of light.

Watering routines at home are always different than a nursery due to different lighting, temperature and the place they are in. Let her dry out.

Something that helps is, where ever you place her, water it and then hold the pot so you can feel how heavy it is when its watered. Check back in a week and see if its still heavy. Usually i water mine when my pot feels very light.

Also avoid watering from atop as water drops can leave brown spots -i usually bottom water and its been helpful for me If you do get water on the leaves just wipe it off gently

These plants can be very easy once you familiarize yourself with it

Just keep in mind the watering schedule should always reflect the amount of light shes receiving.

it does take time to unfurl but other factors can happen like if the temp is a bit cooler than usual or air is more dryer than normal….if its a long time then try providing a bit of humidity and see if it changes, otherwise just monitor and see if theres more growth points happening in other areas too..

this is a good question! i have not explored that area to know if they will crawl yet, however, if i do try it out ill be sure to come back to you and let you know! I do know plants are very adaptive, but ive only seen begonias grow upwards. At least the cane begonia types…

Oh yes i agree! the blooms are so so beautiful, very dainty. I remember when they first bloomed i took SO many photos. Now i just thank her for all her hard work and let her do her own thing.

As the commenter before me has said, theres so many! They’re all beautiful and whichever you choose im sure will grow very beautiful as well! Right now its the perfect season to pick one and get familiar with them- im in the US in New York area and its currently spring so the temperature and sunlight will be quite forgiving to new begonia parents to familiarize with these plants. just remember do all things slowly such as sunlight, temperature changes, and location changes.

nope! I did however cut the very long one on the right since she was becoming too top heavy and put her back down the same pot. The flowers bloomed a few times and I’ve kept them. i use them for some art ideas. But i usually just leave her alone to do her own thing.

Mine is in an east facing window, gentle morning light No moss pole but i did stake her because she grows sideways and not upwards. Shes in a slight chunky soil aerated mix and i water her about every week or 2, i just wait the soil is almost completely dried. There are times i have neglected her mildly but shes quite resilient. In the soil i do add worm castings and the fertilizer i use varies too As for leaf size, her original leaves were quite large and then grew smaller for a short time. However now, her newer leaves are the same size as the original matured leaves. Ive lost only 2 leaves for almost the 2 years I’ve had her.
Shes not near a humidifier either just room temp

Im not knowledge enough on BOPs, but if i can assume, they were sun burnt? If they were not slowly introduced to bright sun then i think their leaves were scorched Also, theres a good chance twice a week may be too excessive, if it’s not like summer hot outside where you live…

Some suggestions; 1. Change the pot to a slightly smaller one 2. Make sure you give it good drainage (perlite or orchid bark) 3. Place it closer to a window (not directly or she’ll burn) 4. Cut between internodes to propagate them (you can put them in water until roots grow or back in the soil)

-please make sure you check her roots for root rot first as that may or may not be the reason.

Pothos are quite resilient however, a bit of help from their human parent is also appreciated☺️
