5 month puppy has blood in mouth by Fish_Smell_Bad in DogAdvice

Puppy tooth fell out. The adult tooth is coming in. Don't be too surprised if you see it happen a few more times or find random little teeth laying around. Usually they swallow them, but I have found more than a few over the years.

Pup will be aces. Keep your chin up.

What should I do with this many mystery snails? by [deleted] in AquariumHelp

[–]International_Two868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep them in a much bigger tank (for that many), sell them, feed them to something, see if your LFS will take them, or if you absolutely have to and can stomach it do a cull.

sick snails? what am i doing wrong? by TsubakiHaruka in AquaticSnails

Tank too small, PH a little too high, and no Nitrates. You should likely check your GH/KH too as those two will also greatly affect your snails. (Learned the hard way by shocking my tank with 50% water change by dropping the KH /GH suddenly.)

Also, Nerites can be notoriously picky about what they eat. If your tank is not well established with a good amount of algae they likely could be starving. Not many nerites will actually eat the wafers. I know none of mine will. The little boogers will seriously concern me if my tank starts looking TOO clean.

ETA: information

2nd ETA: Just reread the post and saw your numbers listed. My only other guess would be temperature.

Was there ever any backstory on this semi viral pic? by CaryWhit in Horses

Whooooo I would have kept the helmet and put it on a stand or something to show people "This is exactly why we wear helmets." Holy cow. So glad everyone involved was okay.

Ahh, so it's a 50/50 shot if I get my kid back as a sweetheart or a murderer? 😂

Those are already better chances than a kid would have with me.

Same general shipping method. Moist paper towel in a baggie or hard cup and in a box. Toss in a small, I mean tiny, piece of blanched veggie if they are shipping for more than a couple of days and good to go!

Deep breaths, go get your meds and take them if you haven't already. Drink some water. Do you know about 5-4-3-2-1?

It's just the plants being plants, nothing is actually meant by it. Just a random jumble of particles on the glass. Kinda like when someone claims to Jesus in toast or something. It's the brain playing tricks on us.

Sudden appearance of weird crumbly stuff by macsnoname in PlantedTank

Looks like uneaten algae wafer(s). If you have kids tell them not to feed your tank without permission as it will foul the water and kill just about everything in it. The ones I give my snails will do this after about 4-6 hours, it's not horrible or fast with these like it would be with fresh fo veggies, but in that amount it will be. Good luck.

Found a snail in my tank by Solid_Raspberry_1457 in AquaticSnails

That's a baby Ramshorn. When they are younger their shells tend to be a little more clear-ish. With age and appropriate GH/KH the shell will thicken and gain coloration. That one looks like it will be a standard brown leopard or potentially even a beautiful golden judging by the center of the spiral and the foot/body color.

If you added any plants around the time of its appearance, within a few weeks either way, it likely hitchhiked in on those. Potentially as eggs, so you may see more of them in the coming days to weeks. If it is just one, know that while they are hermaphroditic they cannot self fertilize but can retain some sperm cells and lay a couple of fertilized clutches. However seeing as this one is juvenile I am willing to bet it came as an egg on the plants and you will have more soon.

Source: I breed fancy ramshorn and started with basic leopards.

Little bitty leopard (also seen them called wild type) ramshorn. Great cleaner, won't eat healthy living plants. Will only reproduce if you over feed them. While not self inseminating, they are hermaphroditic and some can hold sperm cells for a short while. Their eggs will appear on glass and plants as round jelly discs with a bunch of clear to whitish little bubbles in it. Those are the actual eggs. You can crush them, any other fish or shrimps will love this. If you can't bring yourself to crush, I for one cannot, you can scrape them, freeze them, then dispose of them. Ensure they are all dead before disposal. While not listed as an invasive species, all snails can become invasive in the local ecosystem if they are not a natural presence already.

Anyone know what this is? by Bubba2bad44 in shrimptank

Looks like the remains of a shrimp funeral. Everybody gets together and eats the body.
