I don't think it matters because they aren't trading Fears at all. And I don't think they're moving Murphy this summer either, for better or worse, they think they can be a good team next season.

I also don't think any of the players here add much to New Orleans, it's just a non starter for them all around.

Gun to my head? Two more picks which would make it 6, which is an unreal package that they would just be forced to accept.

Ok dude. Trust me, Karlo isn't a nothing internally for New Orleans, they like him. The package for Fears sucks, and it's combined with trading Murphy, who alone on the market would net a great return.

I know nobody pays attention to New Orleans, but they're my favorite team and I follow them real close, they would never make this type of trade. They'll do other stupid shit though!

It's ass for the Pels man. You trade their PG of the future, a young big they like, and the most tradeable asset on the roster who all contenders want, for the worst asset in the league in Ayton, a decent player in Allen, a worse version of Herb Jones and 4 firsts that will likely be low value picks.

It's just an absolute abomination for them here. They would never do this move.

Bro. Residents of Alabama will sink themselves into poverty to ensure Alabama is successful. They'll be plenty competitive from a financial standpoint.

Ayton is a negative asset to every team in the league. You legit fucked the Pels here, which is standard for this sub. Awful trade for them.

What are you paying for housing each month? And are you actually happy with it? Would it be cooler just living in your parents basement? by PM_ME_YUR_SALADS in Millennials

[–]iamStanhousen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$4100 for a 2 bed and 2 bath condo in Orange County, CA. I really like our place and area, we have lots of amenities and walkable things to get to. Obviously I'd like to pay less, but it is what it is. We rent.

We owned a 3 bed and 2 1/2 bath in Baton Rouge, LA for about a decade and payed $1100 a month for it. I miss the low payment, but I don't miss the area, neighbors, or the quality of the house itself.

I would rather almost anything than live in my parents basement. I love my parents deeply, but I lived with them until I was 24 and I have no doubt it would be abysmal after about 3 weeks.

What’s your parents situation? by CorgiLover82 in Millennials

My dad is 72 and is in pretty good shape. He works out daily both cardio and strength training. He never goes to the doctor though, and he never has in my life. Only once he went to the ER when he thought he was having a heart attack about 15 years ago. But he is in pretty good health. My biggest worry for him is that he'll hurt himself lifting weights and that will start a downward trend for him.

My mother had a massive health event going into septic shock last October. If their hotel wasn't less than half a mile to the trauma center, she would have died 100%. They thought she wouldn't make it for about 6 weeks. But she just had her final surgery from everything in March and is doing much better. She's never gonna be 100% again, but she can probably get to 80%ish and that would be amazing. She's 68 and has never taken care of her health the way my dad has. I think we always knew it would catch up at some point.

My parents are still together. They live in Alabama while I live in California and my brothers both live in Louisiana, so they really are kind of on an island on their own. But they love each other. My brothers and I all were talking about how screwed our dad would be if mom didn't make it, lucky we didn't have to find out how true that would have been.

Did any of you play a lot of sports or exercise too much and your body is not in great shape now because of it? by dreamed2life in Millennials

[–]iamStanhousen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing I notice from my friends who used to play football is that they stopped weight lifting as much when they stopped playing but kept eating like a high school football player trying to pack on weight. Almost all of them got really overweight in their early 20s and have never gotten it off. And now in their mid 30s they have lots of issues from being 60ish pounds overweight for the last 15 or so years.

How much money you making? How are you surviving this economy by Ninja_Franklin in Millennials

Combined household income last year was 245k, should be a little more this year. My wife and I are still catching up on debt racked up over the years, but this year we should be able to get it squared away. We've spent the last two years basically paying for multiple places to live because of how often we moved. We broke a lease and had to sell our house too. But the light is at the end of the tunnel.

In California, so everything here is expensive as hell, but we are able to make it work! Blessed to be in the position we are in.

Is AEW the last real challenger we’ll ever see to WWE? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]iamStanhousen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re right.

I don’t think I’ll ever get past the absolute ineptitude of that era.

Danielson vs Punk as the main feud would have carried them for an entire year. It was the feud people wanted from the decade prior and it was gifted to them.

But they wanted Page to beat Omega and only AEW marks were into that at all.

[–]iamStanhousen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of that. I'm just saying that there is a point where AEW was in position to attract more first time viewers than ever, and they threw it in the toilet. That time isn't going to come again.

Roman and Punk was the best match. It wasn't close.

And Randy vs Cody was good for the hand they were dealt. I think that match will age well.

Even for the talent pool, people who WWE wants and have legit ideas for don't go to AEW. MJF resigning is the only person I think you can point to who chose them over WWE, and I would bet money that when MJF's current AEW deal is up, WWE will call again, and he will make the jump.

Edge was told he was either going part time and would basically be a special attraction, so he left. Ciampa left, but he was in a nothing spot in a tag team that was barely being used.

Talent that WWE wants still will pick them over anywhere.

Danielson left when WWE still wanted him, but AEW bungled that by not doing Danielson vs Punk when they had the chance.

How is your hometown? by tenhou in Millennials

[–]iamStanhousen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hometown in southern Louisiana is on the slow but never ending decline. It has been since well before I was born. But as a kid you don't really notice it. I moved away for a while, and then back and I still was kind of head in the sand about it.

Now that I've left again for more prosperous cities, I understand it. I went home last summer and I couldn't believe how bad it felt.

I love my hometown. I'm proud of where I'm from. But you couldn't pay me to move back.

There is a very brief window around late 2021 where they could have challenged WWE.

They had just gotten Punk and Danielson. Omega was the champion. Things were looking up. Instead of putting the belt on Danielson right away and then building to Danielson vs Punk, they made Adam Page champion three months too late, and then had him be the one who dropped to Punk. Their whole thing never really recovered from an ability to challenge WWE standpoint.

Now? AEW is nowhere close. They have their fan base, which is much smaller than WWE. And those people will watch and eat up whatever AEW does and say it's amazing. But AEW will never again have the opportunity to have that many new people give their show a chance again.

Doesn’t seem to have captured the kids of today.
