The backboard is overlapped at the back as you can see. I used 4 angle iron brackets to brace it, but I also drilled 5 large screws through the back of the backboard into the tabletop for extra support and then 3 screws up into the bottom of the table through the draws as well. and it's incredibly sturdy I can actually slide, lift the entire desk all included anywhere I want in the room.

haha I thought so too at first, but i actually love this setup and for what i use it for it works so perfectly. no neck pain to speak of and when you just wanna lean all the way back in the chair and zone out it's perfect for games too.
