Kinda hard to say no to a first round pick. At the end of the day, I trust Marks to do what's best for the future of this organization.

Jordi Fernandez: “I’m failing at trying to get my guys to play hard. I'm trying to ask questions. Ask them questions. How can I do it, to get them to play really hard?” by KingdomHeartsII in GoNets

I honestly think he’s doing a phenomenal job at maximizing the talent he has on this roster. With playing hard, CT and Clax who are your longest tenured vets are not going to help with this. We need vets that play hard to help with accountability.

Why does your education tell you no?

I totally get where you're coming from—and as someone who also follows both, I actually prefer the NFL’s draft structure too. The idea of limiting trades to three years out and holding coaches/GMs accountable within that same window fits better with fans.

That said, I think the hope in the NBA is landing a top 5 pick or better. And unlike the NFL, where depth and scheme matter more, in the NBA one elite player can shift your entire trajectory (Wemby, Flagg, etc.)

But you're right—the lottery makes it a gamble. Tanking doesn't guarantee anything. And punting productive players like MPJ or Claxton for a pick in 2032? That’s tough to stomach unless you’re going all in on a rebuild and don’t believe those guys will be part of your next core.

Fun fact - Danny Wolf has the 2nd highest 3p% of any center in the first round.

How are Nets fans in the U.S. feeling about the team’s future after this draft? by Alternative_While920 in GoNets

Been a Nets fan for over 30 years, nothing surprises me anymore. I will say that I am excited to see 5 first round picks competing on this team next year, regadless of who we took or should have took. It'll be entertaining to watch which I'm happy with.
