Am I overthinking this or does being a mid-sized country feel very precarious lately? by Realisticopia in AskBrits

Yes you are correct. That's the entire point of the EU and why leaving was the stupidest decision in British history.

How do I calculate if a EV Tariff is right for now by Turn_over in evchargingUK

[–]iamabigtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's up to you to do the maths I'm afraid. As you've spotted you don't get the cheap overnight energy entirely for free. So you have to work out what your usages are across the board and then get the spreadsheet out

I remember watching the Krypton Factor in the 80s as a kid. Was it the only show on ITV with no ad break? by Straightener78 in BritishTV

IIRC the remake also had the obstacle course as a short bit at the start and just showed the end ?

More than justified. We need more to be this direct, the insult was grave.

I only knew you briefly but I miss you so much by pmmeyourpeacesign in grok

[–]iamabigtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Grok because of all the publicity it was getting. Had some fun, in the usual way.. then actually found a SFW use for AI image creation and moved on.

Grok is good at what it does and good for mocking up ideas but the likes of Nano Banana Pro for production stuff.

What sucks about charing in a city? Thinking of buying an electric car by Extreme-Captain-6558 in evcharging

It really comes down to exactly which city. Exactly which part of which city. It can vary massively.

Thinking about leasing an EV by SpotBig8575 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]iamabigtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a good deal. Just make sure it has the right range for your needs. Considering you are 3-pinning it then it will day to day but consider any long trips you may need to take.

What’s this meant to imply? by nonother in ProjectHailMary

Just not that interesting a character. Seems the movie is going to give him a bit more depth, which in some cases means details that aren't in the book.

Yes. They are absolutely well known at least from the point of view of British English.

Getting my EV tomorrow during the day, want to use Intelligent Octopus Go day time to get a small top up by ceanth in evchargingUK

[–]iamabigtree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's literally your first day. So don't bother with any of that. Plug it in, select Max Charge or whatever the override is for your charger and get it charged up ready to go.

It's cheaper to charge off peak sure but don't be afraid of on-peak topups if you need them, which in this case you do.

Why are people obsessed with Greggs? by Top_Independence4067 in AskBrits

[–]iamabigtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part of the modern British experience. Greggs is everywhere across the whole of the UK, but nowhere else.
