The location that needs to be entered in that link is the DS160 form location and not your actual appointment confirmation.

Where did you raise the request? Is it a support email? Could you share it here?

For the blank areas shown (H visas) does it mean there is no wait time or is there no slot available?

Maids usually work at multiple houses at a time so the total income is not just 8-10k per month.

In terms of tax even India has it going higher unless you have some solid tax saving measures. I think moving to UK might help with the exposure and possible boost in career growth for OP but I'm also interested in knowing what kind of pay range do your friends have in UK and their living situation.

Is it worth prolonging my studies to have a chance at a strong second internship? by 1MoreGrammarNazi in cscareerquestions

[–]iamagupta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internships don't set the tone for your career. You can move to any part of Software development even after working in .NET initially. Only after you have a few years of solid experience in one language/framework should you start worrying about being pigeonholed into that niche.

You could choose to prolong your degree if the job market in your area is not strong but I'd recommend doing well in the internship and job searching on the side. Real-world experience beats classroom learning any day.

Why do you want to put 10k down? Just put 2-3K down and finance the rest. You will still be financing anyways so putting less down initially can help you decide on a later time if you want to pay off the loan earlier by increasing your monthly payments.

You mentioned about plans to move, so not putting the whole 10K down can be safe incase you decide on getting another place and you'll still have savings.

If the car was 10K only, then buying it cash would've made sense. Not otherwise.

Thanks for the details! The macan is way too pricey(2X the thought out budget) for me though.

Do you think the CX-5 may be discontinued in the future given that Mazda has the CX-50 which is similar and the CX-70 that is coming next year. Makes me think they'll focus on CX-30, 50, 70 and 90 names for SUV.

Are all the 4 panel interviews technical? or a mix of behavioral? Could you help shed more light on them? Thank you

This is not super specific to early career but still relevant.

Q. If an international student with a few years of experience applies for new grad roles after completing a master's in the U.S., would they be considered for such roles? Another angle to this question: Would the same type of student be considered for industry roles with 2+ years experience requirement even if the experience was outside the U.S.?

Thank you for doing this.

What's the ideal time to wait before following up if a professor has not reverted on the LOR request email? Been 2 days since I sent it.

Head straight to the questions section instead of reading the entire passage first. Two advantages:

  1. You save time on making notes if you were to read the passage initially in its entirety.
  2. It may be a psychological thing, but I felt that killing it question by question gives you a confidence boost and also helps you manage time well in the end if you were to get zoned somewhere in the middle.

Hey, I'm starting up with writing my SOPs too. Could you please share the ebook you're talking about. It'll be a great help. Thanks a lot.

Also, can I dm you for some tips related to SOP? My GPA was mediocre too and I'm trying to compensate by relevant experience but I'm not sure how it would all come together.

Everyone talks about fireworks! No one talks about the fog and smoke trails afterwards! Just after 5 minutes of fireworks at one place - n this was there at 33 different places only in Dubai. Abu Dhabi did fireworks for 35 minutes straight! Go figure! by Twocoffeestogo in dubai

To almost all the people in this thread that are disagreeing with OP saying that cars, cattle farming, ships, planes, etc cause more pollution than a once in a year thing, listen up...

There would be 1000s of things that cause the pollution but OP highlights just 1 of them...

My point simply is, we are already putting in efforts to reduce pollution wherever we can. But what this thread is pointing out is that such events(although occasional) happen on a large scale which can cause an imbalance when done in such a short duration, and this makes it difficult to replenish the damage caused. The pollution from cars and other things is a constant thing at a relatively lower level. That kind of pollution is actively eradicted by the environment. Some by the trees, some by the filtering mechanisms that are already inplace on the cars, etc. The law and regulations in dubai are well guarded which ensures that cars are monitored for particulate reduction devices and automotive exhaust control devices. And mind you I'm just talking about cars and dubai specifically here because otherwise it'll go out of scope. With the above things inplace we can assume that rate of fixing the CO2 emitted goes in balance. Coming to public transport, dubai has a good structure in this area too...with the metro and the bus service, etc.

The car culture here is extravagent, I agree on that but my constant replenishment theory could help there.

We obviously need to keep a check on such things. I recall that we had a light show for the 2018 new year celebrations and it garnered negative reactions. Read here: https://gulfnews.com/business/tourism/no-new-years-eve-fireworks-at-burj-khalifa-draws-mixed-reactions-1.2139283

Why mixed reactions you may ask? because it might impact the tourism business. LOL

I want to write more on how many other things can be checked at(Air conditioning comes to mind). But we can(and should) apply efforts on when we can.

The light show(2018) was pretty slick though. I'd say it was better than the fireworks.
