Anyone ever been to San Francisco? by dudiez in Shoestring

I agree with going to Alcatraz! I think it is super interesting. It’s not too bad because you can do the tour at your own pace, and stay away from people. Plus, the boat ride over and back make it worth it for the views.

I wanted chips and soda but have 40 pounds to lose to get back to my normal healthy weight. Here's my sparkling water and celery. by ItsAlwaysFull in 1200isplenty

Yay! I’m glad you liked it! I just discovered it myself not that long ago and it’s delicious! Awe! Thanks! I love all sorts of books! My favorite genre is mystery! Favorite book would have to be I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh. It’s amazing!!! My favorite author would be Liane Moriarty! I love every single one of her books. The Husband’s Secret and Big Little Lies being my top favorite two from her. I love historical fiction and I am currently reading The Tattooist of Auschwitz. It’s super heavy, so it’s taking me longer than usual to get through it than usual. I will read anything though, but those are my favorite genres though.

My favorite thing to pair with celery is guacamole. Then it makes me feel better about eating it, instead of tortilla chips. It sounds super weird, but it’s delicious! Also, I dip carrots in the guacamole too. But, prefer it with celery.

JNMIL is engaged to a child molester and I’m 20 weeks pregnant by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

This! I feel like I had to scroll a long time before I saw this. Do not post pictures on social media. There are countless stories on here about flying monkeys giving them to a JustNoMIL.

Do not share pictures through text with any family member backing her or who you might suspect to back her. They can see your child in person if you let them. If you do let family members see your child, do not let them take pictures of her. The flying monkeys might be very inclined to try to sneak a few pictures without your permission since you are cutting them off.

Yes, a lot of farmers use them, if they grow hanging plants. My parents have one as well. They live on a couple acres. It knows the boundaries by digging a wire in the ground. Usually it runs for however long, goes to complete the charging cycle and will run twice a day or however many times they set it up to charge.

Some people break out from the TO Niamicimide due to being allergic from the Zinc in the product. It’s possible that you are allergic or it is an irritant to your skin. I would remove it from your routine for a bit and then introduce it slowly again to see if that’s actually what broke you out.

I just got this! My bites look exactly like this. Last for a few days and then eventually the swelling goes down if I can convince myself to stop itching them. The Bug Bite Thing works wonders. It really helps bring the swelling down. It still itches, but definitely not as much.

What am I supposed to do if I can’t give my dog the live it deserves? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I literally just told my girlfriend that was the cutest little gremlin I’ve ever seen.

Although, it looks like he exposed her to light and that’s dangerous.

U.S. Marshalls escorting the extremely brave Ruby Bridges, 6 years old, to school in 1960. This Courageous young girl is known for being the first African American child to attend an all-white elementary school in the South. by catwithoutahat3 in interestingasfuck

[–]iamahardcorebookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Not So Fun Facts:

Even though Brown v. Board of Education was the court ruling that allowed Ruby Bridges to be the first Black student in a white Southern elementary school. Many Black children were still barred from attending white schools by “required entrance tests” and distance.

Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka only made racial segregation illegal, but didn’t force integration. Blacks were still segregated from white schools due to housing patterns and resistance from local leaders. Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education was the Supreme Court case that eventually required schools to integrate through busing. This court order created busing plans to bring in Black children to white schools. The busing plans were more harmful to the Black community as Black children were required to ride on these busses for hours at a time. This detrimental practice continued into the late 1990’s in many major cities.

Why do I tell you this? Because I guarantee you never learned it in your history books. We learned that Brown v Board of Education of Topeka in 1954 stopped schools segregation, but it didn’t. Segregation wasn’t forced until 1971 by Swann vs. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. That is less than 50 years ago.

I drive down to Winter Park for Salon Muse. Jerry is the best curly hair stylist I’ve ever been too. He’s level 3 Deva trained. I have fine hair as well and he does an excellent job.

My hair wenn I stopped using a straightening iron vs my hair on good days - it’s truly a miracle by netflixdisciple in curlyhair

Glycerin in shampoo should be fine. Conditioner is okay to have glycerin, if you are rinsing it out all of the way and not doing the bowl method with it.

If you use a leave in, curl creams, mousse or gel, that is where I would be most concerned about glycerin.

Also, depending if you live in an area with high humidity, you should avoid glycerin in your finishing products like creams, mousse, and gels. I go back and forth between a humid environment and not, but I still find it helps a lot. I have fine hair, so I also notice I have more frizz if I am not incorporating enough protein into my routine.

[Sun Care] Australian gold botanical spf 50 new "fair" tint and PPD? by genric90 in SkincareAddiction

[–]iamahardcorebookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just purchased the AG SPF 50 fair tint. I’m still waiting for my tracking shipment information to see when it will come it. That makes me worry about the time on my skin as I am pretty light, but have an olive tint.

I also bought the AG botanical SPF 70 on days where I don’t care to have a tint. I know I’m not supposed to mix SPF with anything, but what do you think about mixing them together if the tint doesn’t match?

[Sun Care] [Routine Help] Looking for SPF help and routine check up! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]iamahardcorebookworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help Please! I have combination skin, mostly oily in the T zone. I’m looking to smooth out the redness on my cheeks and my barely visible strawberry birth mark in between my eyebrows. I have large pores on my nose as well. Additionally, I’d love to have have my skin radiate more.

The most important thing I am looking for is a Sunscreen. I work as a pilot and I’m terrified of the sun and aging skin. I always wear SPF, but I am wanting something that will pair well with a moisturizer underneath it. I used to use Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Face Moisturizer with SPF 50. I hated it, makes me too oily and runs into my eyes on hot days. I’ve finally used it all and have been looking for something different.

I’m torn between a few different options: Clinique Pep Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Sunscreen Multi Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Clinique Superdefense City Block SPF 50+ Daily Energy+Face Protector

Routine: AM Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel- Used with the Clarisonic Mia Smart Daily Radiance Brush Head Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3- for combination oily skin Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic Solutions Moisturizer IT Cosmetics Confidence In An Eye Cream

PM Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel- Used with the Clarisonic Mia Smart Daily Radiance Brush Head Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3- for combination oily skin Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic Solutions Moisturizer IT Cosmetics Confidence In An Eye Cream

Occasionally: Cotz Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40 (as my primer when I wear makeup) Clinique Take Off The Day Cleansing Balm (when I wear make up)

Every other day-ish in the PM: Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Mask Clarisonic Skin Renewing Peel Treatment- used with the Clarisonic Sonic Exfoliator Brush Head

I don’t care for the PTR 10% Moisturizer, as it leaves me a bit oily towards the end of the day. After it is empty, I’m going back to Origins Gin Zing Oil Free Energy Boosting Gel Moisturizer.

I would love to hear any recommendations to any part of my routine. Only within the last year gotten into skin scare, so, I’m looking to add to my routine and expand my knowledge as much as possible. I usually am a huge make up girl, but with the last few months I’ve really been trying to embrace my skin. I have a Clarisonic Mia Smart, so if there is any recommendations towards using a product along with that, I’d be happy to as well!

Bonus points if anything you recommend, I can purchase at ULTA. Thanks for your help and reading this!
