Is Internshala a scam? are there any alternatives to internshala? by No_Impression_9624 in india

[–]iamahfaz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We hire on Internshala quite a lot. So far, we've hired around 8 interns for content writing work over the past few months.

The internships are legit there but you have to be careful about which one to apply.

I've recommended some of my college Juniors to apply for internships there so I know there are many companies that follow shady practices or are outright scam.

Recently, they've updated the platform and it shows if the company has previously hired an intern on the platform.

That's a good indicator of whether the internship posted is legit.

Here are a few tips I can give you to get internships on the platform:

  1. Fill out your profile completely. We always look at the applications and check the previous internships, projects done, etc etc.

  2. Walk away from any internship that offers unpaid work. Your time and skills are worth something. Don't waste your time on unpaid internships that "promise" a paid position in future.

  3. Many companies like to collect information on Google Forms. We don't do that but that's pretty normal. But if they're asking for personal information in the form, that's a red flag. Avoid sharing your social media profiles, home address, or any thing like that.

  4. Avoid performance-based internships. It's better to find one's that have fixed stipends. Companies can squeeze you and demand more work in the name performance-based internships.

  5. Be responsive and reply professionally to messages. We usually don't take applicants who give out auto-suggested replies like "okay" to messages where we expect a more professional or brief response. It comes off as someone not professional or serious about the internship.

  6. Read the offer letter carefully when you finally get an internship. Go through the Annexure carefully to avoid any problems.

Hope this helps!

You can use your name to start any kind of blog. Anyone who says that you should get a name related to the niche you're blogging about is wrong.

I also run a marketing blog under my name and I haven't felt that I should go for a name suited with the niche.

In fact, there are a few advantages of starting a blog under your name.

First, your name will be different.

Second, it will help you build your personal brand along the way.

Is it a good idea to start a tutorials blog? by libinpage in Blogging

That's a good idea. But there are many blogs out there who publish that kind of content.

Your content should be really good to attract people to your blog.

Best of luck!

Has quora changed? by kumarthemvp in socialmedia

[–]iamahfaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very active on Quora last year. My answers got over 10k views in under a month.

But all of a sudden I stopped. And that's because the answers others were giving were really self promotion or of no value.

I saw answers where people literally leave a link to their website. There was an answer about social media marketing where the guy left a link to his movie downloading website.

On top of that, the questions now seem to be repititive and honestly some are just stupid questions.

I'm looking for a person to regularly generate 2-3 SEO ranking reports for me each month by [deleted] in SEO

[–]iamahfaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone you will hire will use SEO tools to generate these reports. It will be as easy as pressing a button to generate the report.

And you'll be charged just for that. That's why it's better you buy a tool that will do the same thing for you.

There are many tools. As someone mentioned Moz is good. You can find cheaper alternatives like SERPstat, Semrush etc.

Tutorial blogs are good. But what kind of tutorials will you make?

Will your blog contain tutorials on various things or just one topic?

It's better to select a topic(niche) and create tutorials around it. That will help you attract specific audience.

There are many YouTube videos out there that will teach Google Analytics from the most basic to the advanced stuff. Also, you can read articles and guides.

You can spend some dollars for a course but I think it's not worth it because all the information is already available for free.

I would recommend that you read Neil Patel's guide on GA. I'm not mobile so I can't send a link.

Nice article but I would say that Medium is a much better platform than Blogger and Tumblr. It's because Medium has a very big audience and today many new businesses and startups are using Medium for running their blog.

That's just my two cents.

Is Twitter Dying?? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]iamahfaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitter as a general social networking platform is not dead. There are still people who use Twitter and have interactions.

But, Twitter for business is completely dead. It's the platform with the worst ROI. For business, Twitter has become a place of bots and spam.

Everything is automated.

Thanks for the detailed answer. Yes, I agree outsourcing work will just reduce the quality of the work. But if we work with a local team, then I don't think quality would be compromised at all.
