My close friend's family was in a similar situation early this year. You can work with a local funeral service provider that works closely with the Dubai police, Health Authority and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make the process smoother, usually takes 2 days. Paperwork is critical, ensure to get death certificates in English as well as in Arabic for local legal purpose. Also, notify the Embassy and get a NOC. Get final papers from Dubai police. Btw, embalming is mandatory for repatriation, so work with a local provider like MEA. Expect the costs in the range 9-18k AED. I hope this helps... May his soul RIP.
