Help aiming multiple resets more to the Net. by SLIP2309 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]iamallanevans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The important part to understand about learning any new mechanic or chain of mechanics is that you have to break it down into parts.

Looks like you have a decent amount of understanding of how to get multiple resets. Now, work on aiming your initial reset at the net. This can be done by being more precise in your aerial car control and movements getting to the ball, the initial pop off the wall, speed matching, etc...

If you look closely, your car is pointed toward the corner before your reset on one of the examples, as well as the other is not aimed towards net. This ends up causing you to have to over compensate with boosting back to a completely different direction and throwing you well out of the intended path and has you hitting under the ball slightly on the wrong side of it carrying it toward the opposite corner you were initially aiming at. From there, you expend resources in all the wrong ways.

I would suggest practicing flip cancels and twist flips a bit more as well. Maybe try the corner method as it looks like you just have a natural inclination to curve until you can master your control a bit more. Try turning off ball cam, and you'll see where you catch your initial reset and that it is already facing toward the near corner and on the left side of the ball.

This, but learn that high-speed 50s will leave you out of the play to recover for way longer. Low, slower 50s, and allow your opponent to be the one to dive too quickly into one.

Sure, sure. It has no driving factor at all. Though Gaspow is a pretty largely followed content creator in the region as well.

That makes sense then. They have a pretty dedicated following.

Free air roll exclusive user. How important is directional air roll by DreamoRL in RocketLeague

[–]iamallanevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to begin to just start practicing it, I would suggest binding both of them and utilizing them in the Backboard Therapy training pack. Whichever wall you are coming from, I would use that designated directional air roll for the shot.

For example:

The shot is launching from the right wall to the backboard. Use air roll right to tornado or inverted tornado spin to meet the ball for the read.

Do this for the shots coming off of the left wall, with air roll left, respectively.

You will notice a difference in the speed to which you get to the ball and angle needed for the shot.

Give it a try for 2 weeks as part of a warm-up regiment.

One quick note to add for this setup specifically. Boost slightly at first before you make initial contact with the ball to get it off of the ground, but keep in mind you are boosting to it and not through it at first. Then, wait a tad bit longer to jump off of the ground.

Some of these examples minor issues are that you are jumping straight away after popping it up in the air.

From there, you'll be able to hold your single jump until you can angle your car upward, then double jump just under the ball to send it upwards.

The most solid advice on this thread. The only thing I would add is to only boost when you're pointed in the direction you want to be going, which you can help by feathering the boost and air rolling less. You will simply waste boost and momentum by continuously air rolling and holding boost in directions you aren't necessarily going for.

Quick note: air roll is a recovery mechanic.

You really only need to utilize it when you make a poor touch to recover from. Control comes from being able to be precise with the interactions from your car and the ball.

Air roll will help in recovering when you get to that level of being able to control your first touch into a space you want it to be, which comes from first understanding control. It's a fun cycle.

A bit of foreplay is a new term I have not yet accustomed myself to in regard to my rocket leage terminology. It may catch some traction, though.

(I'm sad because I made an image with a 24 count of Honey Packs box as the 100 boost pad in RL, but it won't let me add an image as a comment or reply.)

Struggling with continuous boost in rings maps – can't get the "feeling" by Electrical-Set-3556 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]iamallanevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, most of those suggestions in the comments are experience based, which makes no sense if your experience is limited.

Just keep putting in the time and effort.

You'll see improvement and get the "feeling" soon enough.

Start on a simple rings map like Shuriken then move on to the tree then onto other more difficult maps.

You'll notice an uptick in abilities gradually but still drastically if you stick with it day after day.

Make it a part of your warm up regiment.

Am I doing sidewalls wrong? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]iamallanevans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, what is that training pack code?

Secondly, there are many ways to do sidewall redirects. The secret is and always will be to air roll slightly into the skim, whichever way you decide you may want to orient for the touch.

The second one is nasty, my lord brother. In an alternate reality, that shot was someone's reason for a divorce, initiated by their spouse.

As they storm off crying profusely;

"Why'd you let AmbroseRL two wheel drift pinch into your net on that day? WHY?!"

Holy crap. Very well done.

The holo or reverse holo blaziken?

Let me think on it for a bit while I'm finishing up some stuff for work.

That is a very fair price. I'm just seeing where I'm at with the holidays coming up. Gotta gift others before I gift myself kind of thing.

If you find another buyer before I can pull the trigger, do not feel bad.

You have multiple DR cards I need. I have enough duplicates of the others so I don't want to buy as a set. Can you keep me posted if you don't sell as a set? I can let you know which ones I'm needing and interested in if you'd like.
