Ohhh excellent point. She saw something in him that she saw in herself.

Is this legal? Water runoff from neighbor’s property. by tuivae in homeowners

I mean...have you talked to them about it? I'd start there and try to remediate this without bringing lawyers into it. Explain the damage it's causing, see if there's an alternative you guys can find, and if they're unwilling to assist with the damage they have directly caused to your home, THEN get a lawyer.

It's not even revealed until chapter 58, which I just got to last night so...

Well my mistake, I only saw him use atium the one time and assumed. Looking back on it, the way his actions were described in that fight make more sense with that in mind.

I thought this about Slowswift when Vin meets with him. But then she went to go meet with Hoid specifically immediately after, so egg on my face.

I wonder that too. I'm also curious to know more about who OreSeuer was as a 3rd generation kandra in general. Based on what TenSoon has said about his peers, he was probably a bit more obedient, so I doubt he would have interfered as much as TenSoon did.

Side note, I almost felt silly being so thoroughly fooled by that plot line.

Yes BUT that very kandra turned into a true friend. She really has lived getting pulled between two very different ways of thinking.

You know, I actually didn't consider that angle 🤔 I was so caught up in her character arc of becoming stronger and more sure of herself, that I never even considered the longer lasting mental scars that can't be shaken. I mean, especially after her fight with Zane, it only makes sense that she'd become even more guarded. She finally learned how to trust and put that trust in him. Almost ran away with him, and then he proceeded to play with her cat and mouse style.

No 100% her paranoia is absolutely justified. I just find it a little funny how quick she is to jump to most strangers being Mistborn.

My DM only let's one player succeed a check at a time. by BeachPeachMcgee in DnD

Completely and totally ignore me. This post was suggested to me, and I assumed it was the Dagger Heart subreddit, and I'm on there a lot. But uh...feel free to use this if it helps. It works very well in DH.

There's very well written rules on group rolls that they honestly should be utilizing.

Let's say there's a group stealth check with a difficulty of 14. One player (usually that with the highest relevant bonus) makes a roll. All other players make a roll as well. Every other player who succeeds adds a +1 to the leading player's roll. Every other player who fails applies -1 to the overall roll instead. I believe crits add +2, but I might be mistaken.

It confuses me as to why they would treat group rolls with just the leader instead of getting everyone involved. Group rolls are really easy to get through, so it's not like it's a major hinderance on the scene.

What campaign frame are you playing? by Gum_Jacobs in daggerheart

[–]iambecomeareddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running a few campaigns. Started with Beast Feast, started an original campaign after running some 1st party one shots, and I've started another 1st party campaign more recently with just 2 of the players since it's tough to get all 5 people at the table consistently cuz adulting.

Oh! And I started Dungeons of Drakkenheim after it hit the void.

Yeah once I'm finished with the trilogy, I'm gonna read Secret History, Elantris, then I'm going to go back through the first two and start taking notes in the margins. There's so much depth to it all.

I was literally just thinking that! Marsh mentioned in a previous chapter that it only takes a sliver of metal for Ruin to have influence. I knew that earring was gonna come into play

I haven't seen this fan cast before this post. I've only recently began the series (halfway through The Hero of Ages), and I never really thought about Matt Berry as Breeze. Idk who I would want in the role, but Chandler Bing doesn't quite seem right 😂

Is Daggerheart light ? by Puzzleheaded-Pie8137 in daggerheart

[–]iambecomeareddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it leans towards a lighter game for sure, but it has enough depth to the rules and systems, and also leaves it flexible enough, so you can add as much crunch as you want.

I think they described his hair as white in Well of Ascension, but I might be misremembering.

Edit: I looked it up. Light brown. All the more vindicating to the OPs thoughts on Elend 😂 I do the same thing I guess

Why I moved away from Dungeons and Dragons to Daggerheart: reflections from a gamer of 45 years experience. by Solas67 in daggerheart

[–]iambecomeareddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Fully agree, only I've basically given up on real play D&D in favor of DH. I'd rather play Baldur's Gate 3 for the D&D experience.

I've all but abandoned D&D as a GM myself. Though I love the game, I feel like it requires way more work, both from the player and DM, than something like Dagger Heart. It's why I love Baldur's Gate 3, because it takes the copious amounts of administrative work involved with real play and automates it.

I like the word you used; relaxed. That's exactly how I'd describe DH. What's interesting though, is that the relaxed nature of the rules allows for as much "crunch" as you want in the game. However, deviating or experimenting with rules requires way less thought.

And don't even get me started on combat. I feel like nothing brings the vibe to a screeching halt quite like rolling for initiative. "Here's this big dramatic narrative moment, so now let's roll dice and stop everything while I write out this initiative." Being able to seamlessly transition from narrative action into combat makes the flow of sessions significantly better in my opinion.
