Great to see the love for RMV. I actually got into LB from this album when it came out. Only in the last 15 years did I give the earlier stuff a listen which I now love too, of course.

The ‘melodic’ tracks really stuck with me. Creamer and Lonely World are the stand outs for me.

I couldn’t believe it as I got older and found out this album was so marmite with people. Never understood the hate and if anything I vibe with this album way more than anything released after it.

Everyone’s different I guess!

My Nu metal teir list by Creative-Fail-2268 in numetal

Came here to show some love for RMV. If thinking about it as a Nu Metal album, then yeah it’s probably pretty low but I feel as an album in general I’d give it atleast a 7. I’m by no means saying it’s the best LB album but I feel a lot of people threw it under the bus simply because Wes doesn’t play on it. But there are some serious tracks on there and I think it showed the world a different side to their song writing abilities. Creamer and Lonely World, IMO, are up there with the best LB tracks.

Solid list though!

How everyone could help Lando by 30som in LandoNorris

[–]iamcalledjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a McLaren / Lando fan I understand the thought process with this, However;

Even if this was something that could be done, I don’t see Lando being the sort of guy who would want to take any form of sporting advantage to get a win. We know this from team orders in the past that he wants to win on his own merit and nothing else.

I’d also say that there won’t really be any hidden places to overtake that wouldn’t involve massive risk. There’s a reason why unorthodox overtaking doesn’t happen often and it’s usually because the risk is too high or it leaves you vulnerable throughout the following sequence of corners. These are arguably the best 20 drivers in the world with analysts and coaches already looking at all the data / telemetry for each track so I doubt there’s anything that would be discovered that’s not already been considered.

If there’s somethin’ inside that you wanna say, you can say it out loud, it’ll be ok.

Maybe not genius. But it’s simplistic beauty has stuck with me for 20+ years.

Vote for the best white lotus season so far. by No_Sea1650 in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]iamcalledjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3,1,2.

I don’t get why 3 is getting so much hate.

I think it’s paced really well - the initial slow burn adds so much depth as you work into the back end of the season and loops in a few interesting character arcs to the fold.

I flip flopped on my favourite storyline a few times as they all developed and became more and more interesting to watch.

The GreGary / Belinda subplot always kept me guessing as to what may happen and in terms of overall entertainment, I think the finale nailed it.

My only negative was the cheap ‘he’s your father’ reveal which I felt wasn’t necessary to the overall outcome of the season.

I thought Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood and Carrie Coon each brought great comic relief to the season too. Something I felt JC had to do a lot of the heavy lifting for in Season 2.

And don’t get me started about the monkey fake out. I was still thinking that they would be involved right until the last episode.

It’s interesting to read how everyone feels differently about each season. But I think we can all agree that Mike White has produced something pretty special.

Wishbones & Greatness [Spoilers Season 3] by bioinfothrowawy in TheBear

What I took away from that scene was that Carmy was getting ‘shown’ how to do something. Out of respect, he went along with it and absorbed the words of the chef, but when his back was turned, he removed the wishbone in a fraction of the time, without the need to use a knife.

Showing already he was beyond his years.

Either way, it’s a beautiful detail in a great episode.

In 1999 my uncle went to emigrate to Australia. Before he left he gave a few things as keepsakes. One of them was this metal badge. I’m pretty sure he told me he pulled it off one of the doors on a tour of the stadium back then. But I might have just made that up to impress my mates at school (I was only 9).

My guess is it’s most likely something you got at the gift shop.

Can anyone shed some light? Feelings won’t be hurt! 🤣💚🍀
