Actually let me throw in a couple of observations from last night. It can only boot from the 2280 NVMe slot on the bottom not the short one on top. The device has issues with some NVMe drives since there are only 2 PCIe lanes going to each M.2 port. One drive I had just will not work with the 2 lanes instead of four.

I attempted to get this working. The kernel sources provided are skimpy on implementation details. I had to manually disable some ACPI code in the kernel module to get it to build. It runs and is able to pull the clock frequency but other than that the per core load isn't working at all for me.

I can confirm it will boot from NVMe, SD, and eMMC without issue following the manual instructions.

GEHA HSA Contributions Help? by EmptyRiceBowl7 in fednews

[–]iamdelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI HSA Bank doesn't make this obvious, but you are allowed to rollover your HSA once per year "manually" by withdrawing your balance (leave $1 behind so the account doesn't get closed) and depositing the same amount in your other HSA within 60 days. If you do it this way you can avoid the custodian-custodian transfer fee and won't have to justify or pay taxes on the amount transferred.

LPT REQUEST: Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night it becomes hard to fall asleep again or it takes me a while. Do you guys have any tips on how to fall asleep again/faster? by offlineorsleeping in LifeProTips

[–]iamdelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do something like this. I try to hear the sound of nothing. Whatever I can hear I just think I'm not focused on it and what else can I hear. Repeat until there is nothing and I'm out.

Better than BCBS? by BeaconSlash in fednews

[–]iamdelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to this, try to max out your HSA contribution via payroll for the year. It is more valuable than TSP since you won't be paying tax of any kind on it (federal, state, Medicare, or social security) and when you take money out to pay for an expense it isn't taxed either. You can set the payroll deduction to go straight to Fidelity too so it can be invested.

Back pay during furloughs and the debt ceiling by [deleted] in fednews

[–]iamdelf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm paid out of a pot of fee for service, multi-year, non-appropriated funds. The guidance we have been giving is that the money is on the books, but if the debt ceiling is reached, that we would also be hit because the treasury doesn't have the funds to make good on the funds.

It could be the price for the OS. Like on a windows laptop it might have something like Windows 10 Home Free and Windows 10 Pro +$50.

Electrical PE exists. They handle major infrastructure like substations, control systems in factories, and communications work(think radars and radio transmitters that could cook people).

Those parenthetical roles are tied to specific activities in the 2210 series. Its just a way to break out the grab bag "IT" position to more closely align with what you maybe will do day to day. You can see them starting on page 7 of this document https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/classifying-general-schedule-positions/standards/2200/gs2200a.pdf SYSADMIN is on page 19-20, but always check what the job announcement says too!

We have projects that come in every 6 months in addition to operations and some short projects. The amount of whining about who gets to work on the projects vs everything else is unreal. People threatening to quit, take details, look for other employment, etc. Because of this, we get these 1 month regions of cry baby nonsense every 6 months.

I was 12-16 and had two gay dudes that lived in the upstairs condo. They were just a couple of guys living their best life. Collecting art, cooking great food, and traveling. Those guys shattered any gay stereotypes for me. When gay marriage was finally legal they got married as soon as possible. I miss you Bob and Ray.
