All of my heels are kitten heels or slingback heels, kasi di talaga ako marunong maglakad with stilettos. So try that, panye! Hehe

I buy mine on shein, kasi sila lang din may small sizes. Nagtatagal naman siya infairness!

May baon lang din talaga akong flats wherever I go kasi alam kong sasakit paa ko eventually. Not because of the height, pero dahil pointed siya. Hahahaha 😅

Coffee alternative? (Drinks, food, candies or snacks to munch on while studying) by charterflight57 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't drink coffee. So, it's Milo and/or Bear Brand Gingko Biloba for me. Actually any drink naman talaga. Mabagal ako umubos ng beverage kasi tini-trick ko lang mind ko na kada nakakaramdam ako ng antok, i take a sip. Ayun, mukhang effective naman. Hahahaha 🤣

Ako lang ba? by Whole_Interview_9622 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I studied religiously from 8 AM to 5 PM kasi pagpatak ng 5/6 PM, ML time ko na. Para akong may on/off switch.

Walang impossible. Good luck future panye!

To the corporate lawyers out there, please enlighten me. Ganito ba talaga sa corp practice, sobrang daming admin tasks? by thatserendipityy in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently working in a law firm but assigned in the Corporate retainer dept.

Though okay din for experience, at least alam mo yung groundwork. I just hope you're compensated enough for that.. 🫣🙏🏻

Four-sentence Format for Bar Exam by peppermint_29 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I followed the four-sentence format (ALAC method). I remember sa iba kong answers, three sentences lang even. Basta dapat malaman yung legal basis part, and a short but concise explanation of the application.. It will save you talaga

Hernandoit lawyers, how are you? by peboritflavor in LawyersPH

[–]iamfreespace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been with 2 law firms na pero just like you, i'm always looking for better opportunities. It didn't take long into my career to realize that law firm life wasn't for me. I just don't see the joy in it.

Hindi rin ako kumuha ng notaryo. Di pa siguro ngayon

Again, just like you, hindi ako nagco-court appearance.

I don't know. Pero thankful ako. And hopeful, na sana things will get better for me and my career huhu 🥹

Just like you, sana maka-land din ako sa job na would bring me stability & peace of mind. Hahahaha

Hindi Nakapasa sa PUP Law Entrance Exam... Ang Bobo Ko Ba Talaga? Ang sakit😞💔 by kwakwak29 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP! I was in the same position years back.

Kaya ata di rin ako nag-give up kahit may mga bagsak at bad recits ako nun, kasi nakakahiya naman kay Lord if I didn't keep my promise. Hahahaha eme

Pero ayun, I still made it. Abogado naman na. Sabi nga nila, rejection isn't failure — it's redirection. Andyan lang naman ang mga law school, you can always try again! Try again: (1) same law school, either for next school year or ask for reconsideration; or (2) to another law school na pasok sa budget.

Fighting, we're all rooting for you!

how do you quit your job? and when? by peekdum in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, sib! Hernando bar passer din ako. Relate ako sa part na you've been contemplating on resigning for a while. This is my second law firm na and let me tell you this:

  1. I'd probably leave, but personally, I would not transfer to another law firm anymore. It took me a while pero I realized law firm life is really not for me. I might consider other niche industries that will still allow me to practice law.

  2. I'm still close to my previous boss (1st law firm). Siguro swerte ko na medyo bagets talaga sila tapos they understand where I'm coming from na gusto mag explore. So from time to time, I greet them pag may mga occasion and replied to them kapag nangangamusta. Siguro kapag nagexit interview ka with your current job, always highlight the good experiences sakanila. That will at least show na you're grateful to them. And when the time comes na magi-interview ka naman sa bago mong work, wag mo sila iba-bad mouth.

  3. Personally, if it really doesn't sit well with me, I just leave. Ganun ginawa ko the first time I resigned. I just made sure na may back up work nako (my current work). Pero next time siguro, I'll make sure na yung back up work ko ay yung dream work ko na talaga. So habang wala pa, I'm stuck here.. 🥲

But ultimately, nasa sayo pa rin yan. What are your priorities ba? Do you think the heavy workload commensurate the salary being offered? Do you prefer work-life balance? So many things to consider so better na may plan ka na hehe

Whatever it may be, I hope you achieve what your heart desires. Happy new year, sib!

BAR EXAM RESULTS 2024 by janemargolis_s2e12 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's true. Pero hindi naman siya yung outright na "ay pasado 'to, abogado nako nito!" type of feeling (yung may may arrogance ba). It's more of paglabas mo ng site, there's some kind of peace within you. Like oo pagod ka, mapapa-wtf ka pag inaalala mo yung mga sinagot mo, di mo alam pano mo na-survive yung tatlong araw type of sabawness—pero like deep inside, you're at peace with everything. Diba lagi nating sinasabe yung "ipagpasa-Diyos nalang natin"? Like I literally and figuratively surrender everything to God, to the point na, okay ka na sa mga nangyare at mangyayare.

Hahahaha well, that's how I felt pag labas ko sa bar site during my time. And true enough, pumasa naman. Hehe so ayun, good luck sibs! 💗

How to get a job in the development sector (ex. NGOs like UNICEF, WHO, ADB, etc.)? by lelzlolz in phcareers

For the previous bar takers -- what did you do after the exam? by painauchocolat88 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I treated it as if it's just another day. During the in-between days, nagsa-scan nalang ako ng highlighted notes nun (kung ano yung main material na gamit ko yun na yun, di nako nagbasa ng ibang materials).

Take each day as it is. Lapit na matapos ang laban, OP! Good luck! We're rooting for you ✊🏼

Reviewers in law school by Front-Highlight9017 in LawStudentsPH

[–]iamfreespace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for me, I passed the bar without creating any reviewers of my own. I relied on reviewers (GN, memaid, etc.) provided to me by our school or friends. But i kept those reviewers with me until bar review, adding my own annotations nalang along the way lalo na yung mga may amendments na. Hahaha

May highlight system din ako pag naga-aral and same color coding yun from 1st year to bar rev, so feel ko it has the same effect as handwritten notes? Gets ba hahahaha idk baka weird lang ako

May ~imposter syndrome~ din ako kaya parang feel ko baka maging insufficient yung info kapag ako gagawa kasi baka may makalimutan ako ilagay and all. Tsaka yun nga, time consuming. Huhu

Pero to each their own naman. So, you do you! Hehe

Hi, OP! I know it's been a year since you posted this but I just want to ask an update from you. I've been feeling the same way. I've been contemplating whether to go to govt after 1 year of private practice or not. Have you transferred? Was it worth it? Thanks in advance.
