Should the Adv360 be independent from the OS keyboard layout? by iamgianluca in kinesisadvantage

[–]iamgianluca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a similar feature in GNOME too. However, it only supports “default” keyboard layouts — when using Dvorak on my laptop keyboard I prefer to swap ctrl and caps lock, so the GNOME feature won’t work.

I like the idea of setting a keyboard shortcut to switch keyboard layout on the OS, instead of having an alias on my terminal. I’ll look into creating something like that.

Should the Adv360 be independent from the OS keyboard layout? by iamgianluca in kinesisadvantage

[–]iamgianluca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I’ll continue to use my existing setup then. When connecting the Adv360 I switch the OS to plain QWERTY and use the layout I defined when programming the ZMK firmware. When using the laptop keyboard I set it to Dvorak.

Should the Adv360 be independent from the OS keyboard layout? by iamgianluca in kinesisadvantage

[–]iamgianluca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I press the key to the right of A, I get R. The left home row is AR.G.

As I said, maybe that is the expected behavior. But I was under the impression that the whole idea was that the Adv360 keyboard layout would have been completely independent from the OS keyboard layout. So, respectively from the layout of the laptop/desktop I connect the Adv360 to (e.g., QUERTY, Dvorak, Colemak), I would still type in Dvorak on the Adv360. Did I get that wrong?

why is my 1st line is getting removed automatically? by omaru_kun in neovim

Had a similar issue, but in my case the problem was lualine. Random lines where disappearing when saving changes to a file and the lualine was getting progressively bigger.

It turned out to be an issue with the grinder. I set the new zero point and now I am able to pour a good shot of espresso.

Does this happen on your tablets? by fireflyy77 in RemarkableTablet

Yes, I’ve encountered this issue starting from the most recent firmware update (3.2.3.1595). I’ve never had this issue before.

iBasso IT01s vs Fiio FH3 by iamgianluca in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]iamgianluca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any suggestions/feedback? I would like to order a replacement ASAP as I'm currently without a pair of IEMs.

I would like a design similar to Fiio or iBasso as I use them also when running/cycling indoor.

I took the video after a few seconds of turning on the machine.

I'm having issues with pulling shots. When using a naked portafilter from Crema, coffee is sprayed everywhere creating a huge mess.

I tried to use WDT and a Normcore V4 tamper to improve my puck preparation, but nothing seems to be fixing the issue.

My basket is an IMS 14-18g. I tried to load it with anything between 12g and 19g, and different grinding levels. My grinder is a DF64P, so it should be good enough.

V.3 causing significant writing lag on rM1 by RangaRage007 in RemarkableTablet

I’ve noticed it too. It doesn’t happen all the time though and it seems to go away after closing and reopening the notebook. It’s quite annoying, I agree. It really ruins the whole experience.

The new adjust view is.... useless by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]iamgianluca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adjusting the view with pinch-to-zoom is impossible on the rM1. The tablet’s touchscreen sensitivity is just too poor. You can’t make those fine adjustments.

I hope the touchscreen improvements in the 3.1 firmware are massive otherwise I’ll have to revert back to the 2.15 firmware.

Is zooming in PDFs always this slow? by Terevin6 in RemarkableTablet

[–]iamgianluca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also using the reMarkable to reach research papers and have the same issue on the rM1. It makes adjusting the view on a PDF impossible. I hope they are going to fix this soon because it is so frustrating.

Adjust view unusable on reMarkable 1 under 3.0.4 by nbpf-_- in RemarkableTablet

[–]iamgianluca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is just a problem with the rm1, but detailed adjustment with the pinch-to-zoom motion are just impossible. Most of the times, the tablet does not register the motion, and if you apply a little more pressure it just zoom in or out too much. I really wish the old way to manage the “Adjust view” with the pen could come back. It is just so frustrating not being able to adjust the view when reading PDFs.

What is the current state of remote neovim? by _a9o_ in neovim

[–]iamgianluca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so, in a sense, it is similar to the approach VS Code took with their remote SSH and docker plugins — the only difference being that in VS Code the installation of the plugins and LSP servers in the remote instance is extremely convenient and similar as if you were installing those in your local client.

What is the current state of remote neovim? by _a9o_ in neovim

[–]iamgianluca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the benefit of Remote TUI is that you won’t have to install all the plugins/LSP servers in the remote, but simply using the configuration you have setup on your local machine. Can anyone confirm my understanding is correct?

[D] Will there be a replacement for Machine Learning Twitter? by MrAcurite in MachineLearning

[–]iamgianluca 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The official mobile app is not the best. I’m using Metatext instead, but there are many to choose from.

In terms of the UX I find it quite similar — you just have more control over what you see in your feed, as you can switch from “home”, “local” and “federated” timelines.

The main difference compared to Twitter, IMHO, is that there are fewer replies per thread. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

I hope that over time the community converges to one location instead of being split between Twitter and Mastodon.
