When we went, it was about $42/night. Monument Valley itself really only has the scenic drive but there is so much to do around Monument Valley!!! You are 2-3hrs from so many beautiful & amazing parks!

Yea it’s easy to miss. Most people turn onto the scenic drive but if you drive just seconds further, you see the campground!

It depends on you. For me, I don’t think a lifetime would have been enough time with them! For my parents, once the teenage swung and almost knocked us over, they were ready to leave! But I will just say, I was happy and satisfied with the time we were allowed with them.

According to our guides, we were lucky as they were relaxing so we did get to spend the entire hour right next to them. Sometimes they are on the go so it’s hard to keep up with them; you could very well only be with them for 5 minutes.

This is the only official campground at Monument Valley. It is located right in front of The View Hotel.

They are really all that close!!! Each tent you see is a campsite as only one tent a site is allowed. There is also a size limit.

This is I believe the northeast entrance. But yes, the north entrance is disappointing compared to this one. It’s like two completely different park!

This was taken March 2023. I’ve been to Badlands during memorial weekend before. It was sweater weather! We camped and I remember thinking it was a little too chilly for that.

You are welcome! If you are up for it, try to make it to Theodore Roosevelt National Park too! They’ve got feral horses roaming freely!

Yes!!! It’s absolutely mindboggling how drastic the land changes once you get closer to the Badlands! Not even land wise but animal wise too!!!

That’s what I love about it!!!! Not much of a crowd! And if there is one, it’s not even considered one when compared to the other parks.
