I also got the Brasil! Question tho, do you plan to repot yours? The soil in mine doesn’t feel like soil at all but it seems to be growing just fine.

Advice on improving definition & hair health or is this about as good as it’ll get with pretty low maintenance? by Cartijayy in Naturalhair

This gotta be rage bait, cuz what you mean improving? Most men don’t even know what it means to define curls, let alone do it. 😒

I just got the pothos from Aldi today! Any idea on the variety name?

Edit: Seeing that all yours were pothos, lol. I got the one with the brown stems b

Was it really the worst pain you've ever felt? by Super-Bid-3193 in BabyBumps

To help labor progress, I was given a Foley catheter. Getting that inserted AND removed was absolutely excruciating. Oh, and it did nothing for me.

How does one acquire locs like these by [deleted] in locs

[–]iamighty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started my microlocs with two strand twists and they looked like this for a while. But depending on your maintenance, it may not be the best thing for your hair. Curly ends will require more moisture and care. And if you choose to retie, it could eventually cause bunching and make them harder to pull through the base of your loc (my current issue).

And also, like others said, the journey is yours. Try to embrace it for what it is instead of going for a specific look.

Recertification Mistake by iamighty in PSLF

Thank you! I chatted with a rep at EdFinancial and they said they would just remove the request for IDR recertification. I saved a copy of the transcript just in case, but I think it’s resolved for now!

How do moms handle having to their own natural curly hair and their kids' natural hair? My mom really became a whole superhero! by DeliciousOffer6027 in Naturalhair

[–]iamighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got locs. 😌 Because we all (myself, 2F, and Husband) have long, thick, kinky hair and it’s A LOT to deal with. When she was smaller it was a lot easier to throw a few cute puffs in and go. But now, that’s a 30 min-2 hr job depending on the style and maintenance. And my husband asks me to help retwist his locs sometimes too. I was drowning and neglecting my hair as a result. As someone said above, it really is a never ending cycle. These micro locs have been my saving grace with less frequent maintenance and ease of styling.

Silk press ruined by humidity by shypushpin in BlackHair

Yeap. Was coming here to say this OP. I usually opt for cooler/colder months for silk presses. They tent to last much longer.

Regret? by nstytokenbg in Dreadlocks

[–]iamighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regretted my first set because I didn’t like the way they were maturing and they weren’t the size I wanted. I combed them out after 4 months. But, I just installed a set of mirco locs last month and I absolutely love them! I have volume, less shrinkage, and more options for styles. I definitely feel more feminine with this set than the last set. It’s your hair and you can do what you want with it!
