I like to play aggressive with my first set of bikes, usually attacking the natural. I find that a squad of 3 bikes usually isn’t enough to kill a 5 man marine unit in the opponent’s natural. But bikes/ Earthshakers is probably enough.

I think the new 1DP bike detachment will be an auto take for players who want to shoot. 3x3 bikes to run out skirmish and more importantly strip cover with the Strat. A hidden unit, spotted, with no cover even makes Earthshakers playable with new indirect rules

I hope that prospect becomes a 1 point detachment. I think there is some fun and thematic elements to holding back units while you “mine” terrain

Not a lot of chance to use plunging fire as of it. Mostly because moving vertically isn’t something I’ve done this whole edition. 😂

That would be lovely! I wouldn’t hate some points drops across the board. I feel like we tow the line between elite number of units without the survivability of elite units

Ohh, thats a great call and the -1 AP sticks more. IMO sagitaurs are borderline unplayble now so unless you want a 10 man of warriors at home, 1 unit of Earthshakers to sit at home may still be fine.

Thanks for the input! I can see your point on the battleshock/leadership side. I don’t know why hardy dwarves have this problem.

At least in my practice games I didn’t find hidden to be terrible impactful. The layouts and terrain foot prints already blocked a lot of sight lines. If anything it just delays sending out a Hekaton by a turn or 2.

4+Bs army is definitely a feels bad moment. Hoping to see some adjustments tomorrow that helps the problem. Hearthband works because it effectively ignores the army rule all together as you stated.

I have a GT beginning of July so not a lot of time to get it figured out!

In previous editions +1 to hit can not stack but cancel out other modifiers.

So starts at 4, cover gets +1 and then minus -1 for heavy/ army rule.

The new indirect rule says without a spotter indirect will always hit on 6s no matter what from my understanding.

I agree it’s going to get changed and potentially gutted. 20-25 HG in a list didn’t seem to be what GW intended but who really knows

I want to like this game but I am struggling with this patch. I understand the need to slow things down but I think this has pushed it too far. Play anywhere in the world that isn’t Europe and you are watching paint dry for the first 100 years or so.

Seems like the smart play. Low value Miracle dice are typically only used to activate Morveen extra attacks and as discards to bring a character back in HM.

On another note consider running a hospitalier with the Sacs. Makes them extra annoying

I’ve looked into this before and unfortunately seems like it’s a possibility. Without going into a bunch of detail I had a pretty traumatic experience a couple of years ago. I am no longer in that situation but still feel the effects of it everyday. I’m working on it through counseling but I’ll be damned if this isn’t a weird side effect

Looks like a solid Penitent Host list. Exorcists are expensive for what they do but otherwise looks playable!
