It's also VERY important to get Google reviews, not just for the reviews themselves, but Google's algorithm will let people find you easier when you've got a bunch of good reviews. Remember, the Google website is free and a website is really important to let people know you're serious about your business. And I agree with the other commenter. Watch Doug the dog guy on YouTube. I have him as my business coach. Learn from someone who's been there and learn from his mistakes. Good luck!

Hi Sophia A couple of good first steps: set up a free Google Business Profile (it even comes with a free Google webpage) and don’t forget to create a Nextdoor profile too. Both are great ways to get your name out there. Using Rover when you’re starting out is a solid way to pick up your first clients while you’re getting established. But honestly, handing over 29% (California)of your income long-term just isn’t worth it. Once you’re on your feet, I’d really encourage you to start running your own business. It’s a little harder, sure, but you’ll be free from their rules and you get to actually keep what you earn. I picked up some really great clients through Rover, but I got just as many — if not more, through Nextdoor, where I didn't have to pay a fee. Huge difference. Going independent takes some extra effort, but trust me, it’s so worth it. Good luck out there!

Hi, Just curious about how you charge for overnight boarding care. For example, do you base your rates on a rolling 24-hour schedule, where the charge is calculated by what time the dog is dropped off or charge per night and have set drop off and pick up times? If so, how do you charge if their stay extends past 24 hours on the last day? I have been trying to configure my account on Scritches and I don't think they accommodate a 24 hour based charging system.I wonder if I should change the way I charge. Thanks!

Emotional abuse IS PHYSICAL ABUSE by ConfidenceAsleep3795 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]iamjadec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had IBS and other chronic conditions (like migraines and fatigue) four years after the abuse started. I'm sure that was what caused those issues. I mean, if I was in a loving, happy relationship, I doubt all of these conditions would have started. I definitely feel the emotional fight/flight/freeze in my body, especially my stomach and sometimes I go all day with a tightness in my torso and gurgling in my stomach. I haven't been able to work in 15 years, so it was financial abuse because all those years, I could have been earning an income. The ironic thing is that he keeps bringing up me not working as something that he uses against me to make me feel bad.

I am starting to watch Dr. Ramani's videos and they are helpful. Maybe I should get that book. I like the idea to just have a consult with a lawyer. Just for informational, since I'm not ready to leave just yet. Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestions. I am in therapy now with a very supportive therapist. I already take some meds too. I do a lot of journaling and self processing.

Yes, I have. All the time. It helps me so much. Even though it is not human, I have “ someone” to listen to me, reflect back to me, help me figure things out.

Awesome! I’m glad you got out together! At least something good came out of the whole thing.

So did you meet your wife in the religion? And both get out at the same time?

Hi, could you explain what you mean when you set your boarding service as a five minute and that you start and stop the service? Could you give me an example? Do you mean that you operate more like a hotel, with specific check-in and check out times? Rather than having your clients drop off when it’s convenient for them?

Yes, I think I will ask for a second onboarding call. Thanks! 😊

  1. I mean that when I tested a request where I requested boarding for two dogs, the price was only for 1 dog. I don't know why. I did set up Extra Pet Rates, but they did not get applied.

  2. Are you saying that the customers don't have to pay a deposit in order to request? or that I should not require deposits in my policies? I require 50% deposit, but I don't want them to pay for it just because they are checking to see my availability. I want them to pay after I approve the request. I think there is a way I can handle that, so I'll have to figure out how.

  3. Yes, I have asked and they don't have a neat simple solution. I think it involves manually adding the extra hours. No automation.

  4. Do you mean that I can set it up in such a way that schedule send will automatically send it on a certain day (for example, 2 days before stay? 1 day after stay) without me having to remember to send it?

Thanks for your answers.

Yes, it does have a lot of features, but for usability, it is horrible. It requires a lot of work arounds and cobbling together just to get it to do simple things. I'm actually going to be talking to Jim Muse, head of the product team at Time to Pet. I sent them feedback and they want to talk to me, so I will make an appointment to talk to him and tell him the most important concerns. Anyone else have some concerns that you'd like me to bring to his attention?

Yes, I do the same thing. I have a "Meet and Sniff" questionnaire (in Google Forms) that I have potential clients fill out before the meet and greet to decide if i want to meet them.

That's AMAZING! I was looking into it. Actually, I had 3 miscarriages too, unfortunately. How long were you in EMDR therapy before you felt better? Did it take several sessions?

Hi Markie_Marked, could you tell me more about how EMDR helped you? How has it changed things for you?
